The GEC Insider
Welcome Back GEC Students & Families! 2024-2025
Dear GEC Family,
As we gear up for another exciting school year at Genesee Early College, I want to extend a warm welcome back to all of our students and their families. We hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready for a year filled with opportunities and growth.
This year, our focus is on providing a comprehensive support system that integrates both academic excellence and social-emotional well-being. We are committed to delivering a challenging and engaging curriculum while also implementing new programs and resources designed to support our students’ mental and emotional health. Our goal is to ensure that every student has the tools and support they need to excel both in the classroom and beyond.
We are particularly excited to introduce our new school counselor, Mrs. Niki Wiederman. She brings a wealth of experience and a strong dedication to student well-being, and she will be a key part of our efforts to enhance both academic and emotional support throughout the school year.
We have also hired a new teacher to replace Mrs. Garcia who retired at the end of last school year. Mrs. Angie Hoskey-Pocza will be teaching Spanish I, Spanish II, and a section of Biology for us this year. Additionally, as our school continues to grow, we are in the process of hiring another new teacher. This new addition to our team will help us maintain the high standard of education and personalized attention that our students deserve. We look forward to introducing them soon and sharing more about how they will contribute to our school community.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we are creating a dynamic learning environment where every student can thrive. Please stay tuned for updates and information about upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.
Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!
Warm regards,
Robert McAllister
