Anglo European School
Bulletin w/c 21st April - Week 2
The sun has come out, the clocks have gone forward, the daffodils are blooming and the Japanese Cherry tree in our courtyard is in full bloom - Spring has arrived and this week the term concludes with our International Eisteddfod. It is one of my favourite nights of the year when our students demonstrate what is exceptional about this school; their intercultural understanding and appreciation and enjoyment of the Arts. The diversity of cultures, traditions, languages, dance, drama, music and poetry all culminate in a night of exceptional quality. It is a wonderful way to end our term and we wish you all a very happy, sunny and relaxing Easter break.

A Spectacular School Eisteddfod – Celebrating Outstanding Talent
The recent Eisteddfod was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talent of our students. With performances ranging from music and drama to dance and poetry, it was an event filled with creativity, passion, and enthusiasm. We are immensely proud of all the students who took part, demonstrating not only their skill but also their dedication and hard work. A heartfelt thank you to our exceptional Arts and Language teachers, whose guidance and encouragement made this event possible. As the performances came to a close, presentations for the winning students was made by the Deputy Mayor of Brentwood, Cllr Jay Laplain, and Mrs. Gee, Headteacher. This year's Palme D'Or was awarded to Upper Sixth student, Chris. His rendition of "Elegie - Rachmaninoff" was absolutely sensational and it was no surprise to learn that he is hoping to go on to university to continue his study of music.
The school Eisteddfod was a celebration of the immense talent within our school community, and we look forward to seeing even more creativity and passion in the years to come.

Head Student: Annie
"I chose to study the AIB route at Anglo European, taking Geography, Sociology, English Literature, and an EPQ. Starting in September with only one other person from my secondary school was daunting, but what reassured me was the strong support system that Anglo offers throughout the Sixth Form journey. This school encourages authenticity, encouraging us to celebrate our cultures and identities. I am proud to be a Head Student at such a wonderful school!"
Head Student: Louis
"Currently, I am studying the A-level route, specifically Drama, Biology, Chemistry and Computer Science. In the future, I’m hoping to develop my passion for scientific fields into a career; I’ve always been enticed by the fascinating world of Chemistry and Biology! Studying at Anglo is truly an amazing experience. The best attribute is definitely the welcoming, diverse community that the school encourages. No two people are the same at Anglo, meaning every interaction you have is something to remember."
Deputy Head Student: Grace
"I take the AIB route, studying Drama, Psychology, Chinese and Business Studies. Being new to the Anglo community and new to the UK in September, to becoming Deputy Head Student was a huge achievement for me. Through the academic opportunities such as the upcoming exchange programme to China, and the performance opportunities such as performing at Eisteddfod, Anglo has made me feel supported within the school and in my future decisions. I’m planning on studying Chinese and Business at University. Anglo has made me feel proud to be part of an international community where diversity is celebrated and valued."
Deputy Head Student: Amelie
"I am currently taking the AIB route and studying Psychology, Spanish and Business, and EPQ. I have been at the Anglo since Year 7 and I have really enjoyed being part of such a supportive community, in which I have met so many great people. The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities and events which provide us with many opportunities that help us to develop valuable skills. As Deputy Head Student, I’m passionate about making sure everyone’s voice is heard and aim to make a lasting impact on our school."
