A Quick Note About Communication During the School Day
Teachers make every effort to check ClassDojo and respond to messages when possible. However, please understand that they are teaching and may not be able to read or respond to messages in real-time.
If you need to communicate an urgent change—such as a change in pick-up plans or busing arrangements—we kindly ask that you contact the office directly instead of relying on ClassDojo. This ensures your message is received and acted upon promptly. We recommend reaching out at least one hour before the end of the school day or, if possible, making any necessary arrangements in the morning.
Thank you so much for your understanding and support as we work together to provide the best experience for our students.
This Week at Adams Elementary
This week, Adams Elementary had the incredible opportunity to welcome Imagination Machine, a talented group of performers who turned our students’ creative writing into live performances! The energy in the room was electric as actors brought our young writers' words to life with humor, enthusiasm, and a touch of theatrical magic. Leading up to the assembly, students submitted their original stories, filled with imaginative characters, adventurous plots, and creative twists. The performers then selected a variety of student pieces to transform into engaging, interactive skits. Watching their ideas come alive on stage was an unforgettable experience for both the writers and the audience! These assemblies not only celebrate student creativity but also inspire a love for storytelling and writing. Seeing their words in action motivates students to keep imagining, writing, and sharing their ideas with the world. A huge thank you to Imagination Machine for sparking joy and creativity in our students, and to our Adams Elementary teachers for encouraging young authors every day. We can’t wait to see what our students create next!
Adams Elementary students had a unique and unforgettable learning experience this week as Superior Court Judge Azar visited Mrs. Rossmann’s classroom to lead a mock trial! Bringing real-world legal expertise into the classroom, Judge Azar guided students through a historical reenactment of the infamous Salem Witch Trials—but with a modern twist. Using today’s courtroom rules and legal procedures, students took on the roles of judges, attorneys, witnesses, and jury members as they worked through the case. They examined evidence, made arguments, and debated fair verdicts, experiencing firsthand how due process and the justice system operate today. This interactive lesson not only deepened students' understanding of history but also helped them develop critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills. Having a real judge facilitate the process made the experience even more meaningful, as students gained insight into the legal profession and the importance of justice. A huge thank you to Judge Azar for inspiring our students and making history come alive in such an engaging way!

Pyramid of Success
Coach Wooden believed and taught that the most important responsibility each of us had to ourselves was to do everything we could to achieve our own potential. He offered his Pyramid of Success and his definition of Success as a guide, stepping stones to help young people understand what it really takes to make the effort – 100% – to fulfill their potential and do their best. Every couple of weeks, our students will focus on one or two character traits from Coach Wooden's Pyramid of Success. Positive examples of students exemplifying the character traits will be recognized with the Pyramid of Success Awards. Classroom lessons will reinforce elements of the Pyramid of Success. Additionally, whole school assemblies will feature character traits from Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success.
For the next week, we will be focusing on Skill and Fitness:
- Skill: “Practice makes perfect.” Be good at what you do! Lean the subject! Master the task whether it is geography or gymnastics. You have to know what you’re doing and be able to do it quickly and properly. To improve your level of SKILL takes practice, study and repetition, repetition, repetition.
- Fitness: “Act, eat and think right.” To do your best -100%- and succeed you must eat right, think right, and act right! True happiness comes from the things that cannot be taken away from you. Making the full effort to do the right thing can never be taken away from you. If you see others breaking the rules tell yourself, “They are only hurting themselves and they are teaching me what not to do!

Book Reviews
Book Reviewed: Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone
Reviewers: Aitana Esteban Rodriguez and Luna Romero (3rd Grade)
Why did you enjoy this book so much?
Both: It was so funny and crazy! It was very interesting and J.K. Rowling makes another world that you can imagine being in.
Who was your favorite character?
Luna: For me, it was Fred and George – the Weasley twins. They are always playing tricks and joking around.
Aitana: I liked Harry. He was interesting, fun and smart.
What was your favorite part of the story?
Luna: When the characters used the Leviosa charm (a levitation spell to make things fly). It was always a crazy and interesting part when that happened.
Aitana: When Snape tried to steal the Sorceror’s Stone. It was shocking and exciting!
Would you recommend this book to other kids?
Both: Yes!! It takes a while to read but it’s worth it. It’s not too hard to read even though it’s long. It’s funny and interesting with magic and good characters. Also, you feel like you’re in another world when you’re reading it. We would love to be at the school and practice Hogwart spells!
