Chronic Absenteeism
- Chronic absence — missing 10 percent (15-20 days) or more of school days due to absence for any reason—excused, unexcused absences and suspensions—can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by the third-grade, achieving in middle school, and graduating from high school.
- Missing 2 days a month can add up to 18 missed days a year.
- How to avoid Chronic Absenteeism:
- Plan Vacations during Student Holidays - See CH 24-25 SY Calendar
- Schedule Appointments for after school or Student Holidays
- Try to leave for weekend out of town events after school hours
Please READ with your Tiger 15 minutes every night!
