The Governing Board voted to accept the consent agenda items. Items listed under the consent agenda motion are considered to be a regular course of procedure and are acted on by the Board of Trustees in one motion.

There is no discussion of these items prior to the Board vote unless a member of the Board, staff, or the public requests specific items be discussed and/or removed from the agenda. It is understood that the administration recommends approval on all consent items. Each item on the consent agenda approved by the Board of Trustees shall be deemed to have been considered in full and adopted as recommended.

The Governing Board approved Resolution 23-24-05: Observance of a Holiday on an Alternate Date to observe Lincoln's Birthday on February 21, 2025, as part of the Consent Agenda. Ed Code 37220 (e) allows the Governing Board to revise the date that schools close in observance of any holiday except Veteran's Day through the adoption of a resolution. On January 18, 2024, the Governing Board approved the 2024-25 School Year calendar with the tentative observance of Lincoln's birthday on Friday, February 21, 2025, instead of the state accepted date of Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

The Governing Board ratified the one (1) necessary change order in connection with the Modular Classroom Projects. In accordance with the District's change order approval process, the following change orders are in connection with the replacement of the oldest portables located at Fammatre, Farnham, Sartorette, and Price Middle School.

The total change orders for larger modernization projects typically range from 6% - 8%. The attached change orders total $257,548.69 which represents a 2.13% change of the total contracts listed of $12,071,000.00.

Chief Financial Officer, Dr. John Pappalardo provided a summary update of the Governor's Budget Proposal for the 2024-25 State Budget and what it means for the Cambrian School District.

The Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Mr. Linh Nguyen, presented a mid-year update on the Cambrian's Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). A summary of the actions, services, and metrics for each LCAP goal was provided. At this point in the school year, some metric outcomes are unavailable or still in progress, and some LCAP actions may still be in progress.

Mr. Linh Nguyen, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, provided an update on the California School Dashboard. The Dashboard provides a quick overview, with details about overall performance and student group performance on multiple measures of student success. The Dashboard also assists in identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas in need of improvement for local educational agencies and schools.

The next meeting of the Cambrian School Board will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024 at 7 p.m. Meetings are held in person at the Professional Development Center located at 4115 Jacksol Drive, San Jose, CA 95124 in Building 7, and can be viewed online as well.
