Updates from Dr Cummings
Dear 7th Grade Parents/Families,
I hope you are well! Please pardon my delay with sending this out to you.
Regarding bringing liquids into the school, the entry rule has always been that students may not bring in liquid in an unsealed container. For example, a sealed Gatorade bottle would be allowed, but an opened bottle would not be. This rule has always applied to all bottles (including reusable water bottles), but was not enforced as consistently as it should have been. The intent of the rule is to keep students safe and ensure no unknown substances enter the building.
As with many security-related rules, I understand the inconvenience of this for students; however, I am thankful they are adjusting so quickly to the renewed enforcement. To be sure, everyone is able to refill their water bottles as soon as they pass through the security checkpoint.
If there are any students who require any additional support or assistance, please let me know.
Thanks,
Dr. Cummings.
