College Fair
Thank you to Latasha Kelly & the counseling department for an amazing college fair. Students were engaged and had the opportunity to speak to representatives to learn about a wide range of opportunities following high school. See pictures here.

Grade 9 College Tour Experience
Paint Branch is excited to partner with the Montgomery County Career Advising Program (MoCoCAP) to offer grade 9 students an opportunity to visit a regional university on Friday, November 15, 2024. Early exposure to college can assist students in making more informed decisions about their post-secondary plans and further students' development toward college, career, and community readiness.
Paint Branch High School, grade 9 students may choose between a field trip to Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring or participating in asynchronous Virtual College Tours via myMCPS classroom. However, please note that space is limited to 300 students for the in-person field trip opportunity. It will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis upon return of the field trip permission form to the google form, which must be filled out and signed by parent/guardian in order to attend. The deadline to fill out this form and return the permission slip is Thursday, November 7, 2024 (NO EXCEPTIONS). For more information, please contact Mr. Conor Beamer at Conor_Beamer@mcpsmd.org

Open House November 11th
We are offering two windows to visit on the MCPS Open House date, November 11th. Parents can visit either a morning session between 9:00a to 10:30a or an afternoon session between 12:30p to 1:30p. We are offering times outside of arrival, lunch, and dismissal to ensure a positive and safe experience for all.

2025-2026 School Calendar Feedback
MCPS is seeking input about the 2025–2026 school year calendar! Please take a moment to complete the MCPS School Calendar Feedback Survey. Your input will be used to select the first and last day of school, as well as other important dates for the coming school year.
Arts and Social Justice Fellowship Opportunity
Strathmore and their Core Partner, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Present the Arts and Social Justice Fellowship .This is a free program for DC, Maryland, and Virginia high school students to experience local performing and visual arts at Strathmore, Woolly, and other local arts venues. With guidance from mentors, students will develop their analysis around social justice and systems change, cultivate leadership skills, and connect with other students and professionals. This fellowship culminates in the students creating their own projects, inspired by the pieces they see, and addressing the intersection of art and social change.
