The weekly newsletter for the FHMS Community - 9/27/24

Mr. Hiti's Message

Conferences will be taking place on October 8, 10, and 15 from 3:30-7:30 p.m. each day. Grades 5 & 6 will have scheduled conferences using PTCFast to sign up with a teacher on your student’s teaching team. Grades 7 & 8 conferences will be held using the arena format, where teachers are on-site and you can meet with those teachers you choose to meet with. Conferences on October 8 & 10 will take place at Friendly Hills and be in-person conferences, and the conferences held on October 15 will be for virtual conferences with every teacher in each grade.

Please pay attention to your child’s attendance and let the main office know about any attendance issues you might be having. We want our students to be in school each day learning and taking part in school activities.

Conferences

Conferences are coming! A separate email with detailed information will be sent out to all parents/guardians on Monday afternoon, but we want you to be aware of the upcoming schedule.

Tuesday, October 8, 3:30-7:30 p.m. (in-person at Friendly Hills)

Thursday, October 10, 3:30-7:30 p.m. (in-person at Friendly Hills)

Tuesday, October 15, 3:30-7:30 p.m. (virtual via Google Meet)

Conferences will be in-person at Friendly Hills Middle School. If you cannot attend in-person, the only date available for virtual appointments via Google Meet is Tuesday, October 15th.

Winter Sports Registration Dates

Registration for winter sports through Two Rivers High School opens on October 1st. High school sports open to middle schoolers include Dance Team, Gymnastics, Girls' Hockey, Nordic Ski, Winterguard, and Boys' Swim & Dive.

Registration for Middle School winter sports opens on October 10th. These sports include Boys' Basketball, Girls' Basketball, and Wrestling. Registration for Middle School Dance Team is still open and practice begins the week of October 14th.

All students must have a physical on file with the office before registering.

Battle of the Books Booklist Mystery!

Students will notice posters appearing around school which give hints to this year's Battle of the Books reading list. They can pick up an answer sheet from Ms. A in the library to try to solve the clues and win a prize! The answer sheets are due October 15th and the booklist will be revealed and available for check on starting October 16th. *Note* Hint posters will only appear in and around the library, cafeteria, gym hallway, stairwells, entrance, and main hallways. There will be no posters upstairs or in classroom areas.

Warrior 5K Run/Walk & Family Mile

Register for the Warrior 5K on Saturday, September 28 at 9:00 a.m. for a fun, community-based event that awards prizes for the top three runners in various age categories and is a primary fundraiser for the ISD 197 Educational Foundation. Registration is open here.

Rules for Youth Attending Two Rivers Sporting Events

We love our Warrior fans! But please remember: All K-8 students must attend games with their own parents or guardians, K-8 students must sit with their parent/guardian at the game, no backpacks are allowed, and no outside food or beverages are allowed. Thank you!

Lost and Found

The lost and found box is already collecting items! Parents and guardians are welcome to come outside of school hours to look for their student's lost belongings. There is a large box between Lower Red and Lower Blue, and a bin in each the boys and girls locker rooms.
