Safety: Fighting on Campus
Tiger Family,
We are off to an amazing start and we are extremely excited about the 2024-25 school year. Mansfield High School is a special place because of our awesome students, parents, and staff.
It is our goal to create a supportive, positive learning environment for all of our students; most importantly the safety and security of everyone at Mansfield High. Parents and Guardians, we strongly encourage you to have a conversation with your student(s) about how to maturely handle disagreements with their peers at school. The adults on campus want to be proactive and solve problems between students, but are only able to do so if they are aware of the issues. While at school, within 300 feet of the school, on school transportation, or at school-sponsored events, the campus has jurisdiction. There is always another option, rather than fighting for our students. Please see some of those options below:
1. Talk to a parent or guardian.
2. Tell a teacher, administrator, counselor, or other MISD staff member.
3. Report a concern or potential concern to the appropriate entity (Bullying, Threat, Crime) through our online reporting system at This is Our House.
4. Encourage their peers to stay out and away from fights.
As always, when a physical altercation occurs on campus regardless of the location, a thorough investigation will be conducted. This year students who engage in a mutual fight will be considered for a placement at DAEP as well as being criminally trespassed from attending optional school activities, such as sporting events, dances, homecoming, or prom.
In advance, we strongly encourage you to have a conversation with your student(s) about how to prevent physical altercations at school and hope to take advantage of the many educational opportunities, clubs, or programs at Mansfield High. We want to ensure your students are safe and free from the disruption and distraction that fighting causes on campus. We value your partnership in your student(s) educational success!
With Tiger Pride,
