AEHS Weekly Newsletter
May 5, 2024
Good evening, Titans!
What an exiting time we had last week! It was such a nice treat to see our seniors who looked absolutely amazing at the Senior Prom Friday. The weather held up, the venue and the food was great, our staff who attended looked fabulous, and most importantly, the students had an incredible time! Thank you to everyone who made this possible, and thank you to our PTSA who as always, put on an amazing After Prom for our students. What a time!
Congratulations and best of luck to to our Boys Lacrosse Team. Please join them and me tomorrow night, May 6, at 5:30 p.m. at Kennedy High School as they take on Sherwood High School in our first ever County Championship game. Einstein's participation in the championship game tomorrow came down to a coin toss, which we won! Sherwood generally fields a very strong Boys Lacrosse team and have multiple county championships, but this our Titans first crack at it. Please join me tomorrow to cheer on our Titans.
I want to remind you that this week is National Teacher Appreciation Week and what I know about teachers is that not a single teacher chose this profession because of the independent wealth that comes with being a teacher. Most chose this profession to impact the lives of young people, and all stay because of their commitment to the success and well-being of their students. In a few short weeks we will see the manifestation of our teachers hard work and commitment to your students at graduation at DAR Constitution Hall. I am asking you to take a few moments out of your day this week and to send a message to one of your children's teachers to let them know you appreciate them. Feel free not to limit yourself to teachers at Einstein, but any teacher who has had an impact on you (students) or your child (parents).
Finally, in March we held our 2nd Annual Career Day, and MCPS-TV came out to record the event. Since then our students have achieved several great accomplishments including wining the MCPS Business Pitch, winning first place in the MESA competition, and winning first place in the state-wide Stock Market challenge. A few weeks ago MCPSTV shared the video the created during Career Day and I want to share the video with you here.
Have a great week!

Introduction of Athletic Specialist (NEW)
We shared previously that our current Athletic Specialist, Coach Howell, is stepping down at the conclusion of this school year and will be the head football coach at Wheaton High School. Recently, we hired Ms. Tina Fitzpatrick to replace Coach Howell. Ms. Fitzpatrick is not only a member of the Einstein community, but she is a teacher, Girl's Lacrosse Coach, and Assistant Athletic Specialist, and comes to us highly recommended from Walter Johnson High School.
While Ms. Fitzpatrick's official start date is not until July 1, she will begin transitioning into her new role right away. It is my hope that you meet Ms. Fitzpatrick soon so you, too, can see why she is the right person for this position.
We are excited to bring Ms. Fitzpatrick on staff here at Einstein and look forward to an opportunity for you to meet her and work with her. Please see her letter to the Einstein community by following the link.
