CES- Principal Message

Happy Sunday, Chameleon Families!
Parents,
Remember that there is no school for any students this Friday! π
This Thursday we will have our Spring Field Day for our Tracks 1 and 3 students. Thank you to those parents who have already signed up to volunteer! To make this the best day for them we need more volunteers though! In fact, we still need 10 parents to help out from 12:45-3:00 and 6 parents to help from 9:45 to noon. If you can help run a station that day, we would really appreciate it! If you have specific questions, please email Mr. Miller at nmiller5@wcpss.net. To sign up, click this link: https://forms.gle/tjErzgdYjUJv6NBt8
Has ordering a yearbook been on your to do list, but you haven't checked it off yet? You're in luck! The deadline to purchase a yearbook and the deadline for custom page edits has been extended to April 25th! See flyer below in the PTA section and click on the image to order your yearbook today!
** Parents, please remember that it is very important that students arrive to school BY 9:15. If you child is not IN CLASS by 9:15, they will be marked tardy. If you have an appointment in the morning, you must bring a doctor's note from the appointment or your child will receive an unexcused tardy. Thank you for your help in getting our students to school on time for valuable instructional time.
Parent Panorama Survey
Wake County Public Schools is administering a District Wide Family Survey from Monday, April 7 through Friday, May 16. This survey provides families the opportunity to provide valuable information and a high-quality data source for planning and School Improvement.
The survey has been translated into various languages; Spanish, Arabic, French, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese in an effort to provide accessibility to families in Wake County Public Schools. The survey administration language can be chosen by families before taking the survey.
Thank you to the 77 families who have already taken the survey!
Your feedback is appreciated and valued!
The link to access the survey: surveys.panoramaed.com/wakecounty/familyLost and Found!
The weather is getting warmer, but we have a lot of coats and sweatshirts, etc leftover from the colder months in our lost and found. We will be donating all items in Lost and Found on May 2nd to a Note in the Pocket. Please tell your child to check the lost and found for any lost items or come and sign into the office and take a look yourself π
Carpenter Ambassadors' Toy Drive
Parents: EOG Proctors Needed!
The end of year is quickly approaching and that means that EOGs are right around the corner for our 3rd through 5th graders. To ensure that our students have the best testing environment possible, we need parent support. We are in need of parents/community members to serve as proctors for our testing environments. Proctors serve as additional monitors to help test administrators assure that correct testing policies and procedures are followed, which ensures a fair and equitable testing experience for all students. If you are able to help serve in this capacity, please click on the link below to sign up for a time slot. Thank you in advance for helping our students have the best testing environment possible!
WCPSS Survey for 5th Grade Students
This spring, students in grades 5-12 will be asked to complete the annual WCPSS Student Engagement Survey. Your child will be given an opportunity to complete this survey during the school day.
The survey includes questions about their school experience, including topics such as teacher-student relationships, relevance of school work, and future aspirations and goals.
The results of this survey help schools monitor their School Improvement Plans, and help the district track student perceptions about their educational experiences. Student responses to individual questions are not shared with the school.
You can click here to review the questions included on this survey and click here to review results of the survey from previous years.
If you have any questions about when the survey will be completed, or if you would prefer your child not complete the survey, please contact your childβs teacher by April 25th.
If you have any questions concerning the content of the survey, please contact the Wake County Public Schoolβs Data, Research, and Accountability Department at wcpss-data-accountability@wcpss.net
Thank you for your continued partnership.
