Good Afternoon,
We’re off to a fantastic start to the school year! It’s hard to believe that progress reports are already around the corner, but they’ll be sent out next Wednesday, September 11th. I hope you’re enjoying the cooler weather as much as our classrooms are with their new mini-split systems! September is shaping up to be a busy month at school, so here’s a quick rundown of what’s coming up:
PTO Meeting Tonight!
We look forward to seeing you at our first general PTO meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Activities Center.
Donuts with Grownups
Our Grandparents Day has transitioned to Donuts with Grownups to include our strong military community and families with grandparents who may not live locally. Join us for Mass at 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 12th, followed by Donuts (& Coffee) with Grownups at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center. We hope to see all our parents and grandparents there!
St. Vincent de Paul Society
In honor of the Feast of St. Vincent de Paul on September 27th, we are collecting non-perishable food items to support our parish’s St. Vincent de Paul Society. Donation tables are set up in the hallways for students to drop off items each morning. Additionally, students can dress out of uniform on Monday, September 9th, for a $2 donation, with all proceeds going to the Society.
Ignatius Book Fair
We’re excited to host the first-ever Ignatius Book Fair in Oklahoma! Ignatius Press is a Catholic theological publishing house based in the United States that ensures that children (and adults!) have access to literature that can better form their minds and enrich their souls. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to access enriching literature for you and your family. The Book Fair runs from September 11th to 15th. It will be open to students during school hours, to families attending Donuts with Grownups on the 12th, and to our parish community on September 14th and 15th before and after Masses.

Safe & Sacred
At the end of the month, our teachers will be implementing the Safe & Sacred curriculum for each grade level, in conjunction with the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training for volunteers. If you would like to review the curriculum beforehand, please contact the office to arrange a viewing. If you choose to opt out of your child participating in this program, please contact Principal McMullen to get an opt out form by September 18th, as teachers will start teaching the curriculum the week of September 23rd.
Duc in Altum
Our middle school students will have the opportunity to participate in "Duc in Altum" from September 16-18. This immersive experience at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Camp allows students to explore their faith and science in a unique way. Ice Cream on Fridays
Starting this week, ice cream will be available for purchase in the cafeteria on Fridays (except during Lent) for students in grades 1 through 8. Treat your kids to a sweet end to their week!
Hosting CGSAA Volleyball This Weekend
If you’re looking to earn volunteer hours, we need help in the concession stand this Saturday for CGSAA volleyball games. Sign up HERE to volunteer.

Calendar Update
Please note that we will not be in school on April 8th & 9th. Our teachers will be attending Archdiocesan Professional Development on those days. This is not until April, but I wanted to inform you sooner rather than later. An updated school calendar is attached at the bottom of the newsletter for your convenience.
