ELPAC Prep at Glenn
Our English Learners are gaining the confidence and support that they need to. tackle the upcoming ELPAC testing. Last Saturday, 15 students attended the academy. These deciated students were able to work on the reading, writing and listening portion of the ELPAC. The students left happy and ready to take on the test! A big thanks to Carrie Vaughn and Saxty Soto who organized this events and delivered the lessons.

Eagles Visit LBCC
Our ERWC students visited Long Beach City College to learn about all the degrees, certificates, programs, and pathways LBCC has to offer. It is important that all of our Eagles graduate College/Career Ready, and exposure to post-secondary institutions is a critical part of this goal. Field trips like this one open our students' eyes to all of the possibilities for their future selves.
Q3 Progress Reports
Eagles, teachers will be submitting Q3 Progress Report grades on Tuesday, 2/11. Progress Reports will be mailed out by Friday, 2/14.
CSF and Chick-Fil-A Give the Gift of Reading
JGHS CSF Chik-Fil-A Leaders visited our neighboring St. Linus lementary School to give them books and read to them.

Thank you to our School Community Liaison, Priscilla for organizing such a fun Zumba night. It was a fantastic event, and we truly appreciate all the effort you put into making it enjoyable for everyone.
No Hate Tour - Tuesday February 18th during 6th period
"The No Hate High School Tour, now in its 25th year, is an incredibly impactful educational program that uses the energy and excitement of action sports to deliver critical bullying prevention tools, techniques, and information to students in a relatable, peer-to-peer manner. The program features top BMX stars that teens admire performing high-energy action sports shows on campus while speaking to the students about their own experiences with bullying, overcoming obstacles, being an ally, inclusion, kindness, surrounding yourself with positive influences, problem-solving, mental health awareness, and other important subjects that really resonate with teens." - No Hate Tour
JGHS 1st 5K Fun Run - Fundraiser
SAVE THE DATE
Join us for a morning of fitness, fun, and community spirit at the 1st John Glenn High School 5K Fun Run Fundraiser! Lace up your shoelaces and be a part of this exciting event happening on Saturday April 12th starting at 9:00am. Whether you are a seasoned runner or just looking to enjoy a leisurely walk ,this 5k is perfect for participants of all skill levels. Bring your family and friends! Don't miss out on the chance to support our school! Early Registration will start at $25.00. More information to follow. See you at the start line.
We are currently seeking sponsors and donations to help fund this event and ensure it runs smoothly. If you own a business or know someone who might be interested in sponsoring, please let us know. All contributions will go directly toward event expenses. Additionally we are looking for volunteers to join our organizing committee.

Our ASB Card is only $40.00. This will allow any ASB Card holder free admission to all home league games. They will save money on dances and receive a free parent card!
ATHLETICS
Boys Wrestling League Champions !!!
A message from Ms. Parra
Varsity Boys Wrestling Team defeated Cerritos and claimed 1st place in the 605 League. The energy in the gym was amazing, with John Glenn fans filling our side of the stands.
The Eagles chant that began after the team’s 605 League Championship victory was a true testament to the Eagle pride that filled the air!
