Summer Workshops

Hello from Region 1 AMSTI-UNA!

We are excited to offer a wide variety of high-quality professional development opportunities to enhance your STEM instruction and improve student learning. This summer marks the twenty-third year of training for AMSTI-UNA. This academic year has been one full of challenges. Our teachers and administrators have been so patient and gracious as we have worked diligently to get materials into classrooms. More information is to come concerning new plans we will be putting into action to ensure that the delays and shortages you experienced this year do not happen again.

There is information throughout the Smore specific to content areas. Take the time to read in its entirety before clicking the registration link to ensure you schedule the sessions that will best meet your needs. While we will not be doing any sessions that are tied to ordering materials, we hope to have the funding to do kit-based training in the school year. In order to be eligible for these content sessions, you must have taken the Foundational Training associated with the math or science discipline. We are offering both! Take advantage of these if you have not so when the time comes you are prepared.

Once you register, you will receive an automated notification that your information has been processed. All registrations are pending eligibility and session availability. You will receive a separate email letting you know your attendance has indeed been confirmed.

Math Foundational Training is required BEFORE attending any AMSTI Math Content Training. Take advantage of this training because it is a prerequisite for upcoming math content sessions.

The AMSTI4ALL Math sessions listed below are available to anyone who teaches math including general, special education and interventionist teachers.

No Math Foundational Training prerequisite or PLC follow-up is required.

While we will not be doing any K-8 Science Sessions that are tied to ordering materials, we hope to have the funding to do kit-based training in the school year. In order to be eligible for these content sessions, you must have taken Science Foundational Training. Take advantage of this so when the time comes you are prepared.

The AMSTI4ALL Science sessions listed below are available to anyone who teaches science including general, special education and interventionist teachers.

No Science Foundational Training prerequisite is required.

Please Note: Using Proficiency Scales to Support Instruction & Assessment is a required prerequisite for Precision in Pedagogy Part 1: Yearlong Planning with Proficiency Scales (K-12). We plan to offer Precision in Pedagogy Part 1 this fall, so be sure to complete this essential training to move forward!

EXISTING ASIM teachers previously certified in current content area WILL NOT be required to attend Science Foundational Training or additional content professional learning to request updated instructional materials. An exception applies to teachers who have changed content areas. In such cases, additional training is recommended.
