Message from the Principal
Highlights-
Spirit Week 12/16 - 12/20 - Please see schedule below.
eLearning Days - In the event of an emergency weather day, we may utilize our eLearning plan and hold school remotely. This is still considered a school day and students must be called out if absent. Teachers will prepare students ahead of time to know how to join remotely. If you can have them log in to their computers, we can guide them the rest of the way! Please be sure to review the eLearning day schedule in more detail below in case we need to use it!
Toys for Tots - If you would like to donate an unwrapped toy please send in by Friday December 13th to the SMS main office.
Upcoming FTC Events - Winter Room Parties on Friday 12/20 and Wendy's Dine Out 12/20 and Chuck E. Cheese Dine Out on 12/27.
Positivity Project - The week's upcoming character traits and family letters are linked.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Karen Marino
Winter Break Spirit Week 2024
Indoor or Outdoor Recess?
Students will go outside for recess when the weather and temperature are in the green and yellow categories. If the temperatures are near the red zone, students will have indoor recess. If students want to play in the snow when it is snowing, they will need snow boots and snow pants (when the time comes).

Outdoor Recess
The cold weather has arrived. Please ensure you are sending your children to school with the necessary winter apparel—coats, hats, gloves, etc. All students are responsible for making sure they go outside in the winter clothes they were sent to school in.
If/when there is snow outside, only students with appropriate snow gear - coats, snow pants, and boots will be allowed to play in the snow.
- It's always good to have an extra set of clothes in their locker just in case they get wet from outside or from a spill in the lunchroom.
If you need any help in gathering any of these winter items, please let us know.
Toys for Tots - Toy Drive
Salt Creek School District 48 is a Toys for Tots Donation site. If you would like to donate to their annual toy drive, please send an unwrapped toy with your child before Friday December 13, 2024 to be dropped off in the school office.
