Did you know that September is National Attendance Month? We will celebrate National Attendance Week next week here at GIA with the following Spirit Days listed on the flier below. Additionally, I believe it is of importance to know and understand the impact of having On-Target Attendance.

Chronic Absenteeism – missing 10% or more of the school year for any absenteeism reason. For students enrolled the entire school year, 10% = 18 absences.

Satisfactory Attendance – missing less than 10% of the school year for any absenteeism reason. For students enrolled the entire school year, less than 10% = no more than 17 absences.

ON – TARGET Attendance – missing less than 5% of the school year for any reason. For students enrolled the entire school year, less than 5% = no more than 8 absences.

Please continue to partner with us to ensure your student is within the On-Target Attendance Range!

To be considered for the scholarship competition, a candidate must be involved with a local community-based program. The student must also be a graduating high school senior who will be attending an accredited college/university in the fall of 2025. The scholarship is for the 2025-26 college year only.

The students will be able to apply online starting August 7, 2024 to October 22, 2024. The scholarships will range from $1,000 - $2,500.

A huge shoutout to our GIA Counselors and Office of Student Services for putting on our 2nd on-campus College Fair for our Juniors and Seniors last week! We had over 40 colleges and universities from across the nation on our campus last Friday!
