Dear Parents and Carers,
What a wonderful week of learning and celebrating we have had at Carleton Park!
I would first like to give a special mention to four of our children who represented Carleton Park at the West Yorkshire Games - Cross Country Championships yesterday. The children were not phased by the large event and gave it their all. Well done!
I would also like to thank you for all the support you have given in preparing and helping your child be a character of their choice for World Book Day. Reading is at the heart of everything we do at Carleton Park, and being able to celebrate books and reading in such a fun way was really special. The day was celebrated both in classrooms and with a special World Book Day assembly led by Miss Brook. In the assembly the masked readers were revealed! All the children (and adults) were given the opportunity to take part in a parade around the hall to share their costumes.
The children have been asked to suggest new books for the school library, so please, if you have any suggestions that you feel children in school would enjoy reading, let us know. Thanks to the amazing response and purchasing of books at the recent book fayre, we have the opportunity to purchase books linked to children’s interests.
Have a great weekend,
Take care,
Mrs Winter
Headteacher

NHS Pharmacy First Service
Did you know that the NHS Pharmacy First Service enables children and adults to get convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment where appropriate, for seven common conditions without the potential delay of having to wait for a GP appointment? Accessing the service may mean that can help children feel better and back to school as quickly as possible, as well as supporting parents/carers to also get better if they are unwell with one of the conditions covered under the service.
There is no need to make an appointment; parents or carers can pop into their local Boots pharmacy with their child and ask for help under the service.
Support for the following conditions can be accessed under the service, free of charge (unless NHS prescription charges apply):
- Earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
- Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
- Infected insect bites and stings (aged 1 year and over)
- Sore throats (aged 5 years and over)
- Sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women (aged 16 to 64 years)
