Hello Cleveland Families!
This past week, we were thrilled to welcome many of you to Cleveland's Black Family Night, which was thoughtfully planned by our family co-design team, led by staff members Tymmony Keegan and isaura jimenez guerra. Family co-design is a twist on traditional school approaches to family engagement that emphasizes true partnerships between families, communities, and schools to identify shared challenges and collectively design solutions. You can learn about family co-design work, here.
Thank you to our family codesign team, Black staff and students, community partners, and families who came together for this event. There was rich conversation, great food, fun activities for kids, and the birth of some exciting ideas for the future of Cleveland.
If this work sounds interesting to you and you'd like to learn more or become involved, you can connect with Tymmony Keegan at tjkeegan@seattleschools.org or isaura jimenez guerra at isjimenez@seattleschools.org.

Important Info to Know
Ramadan Mubarak
To our Muslim family at Cleveland: Ramadan Mubarak. We wish you all the blessings of the Holy month.
It is important to us as a school community that we support all students who participate in the Ramadan fast this month. Our staff will be mindful and supportive of students who participate in fasting this month by refraining from having food and drinks in class, restrict the playing of music, provide accommodations students may need in their classes, and offer our library as a "food-free" space during this time for our students to hang out during lunch.
During Ramadan, students will be able to pray at 12:30-12:45 in Room 1141. They should inform their teacher and be out of class no more than 15 minutes. Students who can bring their own prayer rugs are encouraged to do so, in the event that we run short.
Next PTSA meeting: March 11th at 6:00 pm in our cafeteria
We invite you to join us for our next PTSA meeting on 3/11, at 6:00 pm, in the cafeteria. If you have any questions about PTSA, please reach out PTSA President Castalia Simon at casimon@seattleschools.org.

Families of multilingual learners: WIDA testing this week!
Students who are served by the Multilingual Learner program will take the WIDA English Language Test as follows:
Grades 11 and 12 – Tuesday, March 4
Grade 9 – Thursday, March 6
Grade 10 – Friday, March 7
This is a yearly test that measures progress in learning English. It helps the staff decide what kinds of supports will be best for your student in the coming year. For seniors, it helps us to know how well we have supported our multilingual students through their four years of high school.
It is an all-day test, so please encourage your student to get a good night’s sleep beforehand. Details have been emailed out, with this reminder going out as well. WIDA notifcations with translation
Please reach out to Laura Roesener, Assistant Principal, if you have questions: ljroesener@seattleschools.org
All Families: please take a moment to complete the Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefits Application
Please take a moment and complete CNEEP form here. We need all families to complete this form, regardless of your income level.
As we enter into a challenging budget season, the data collected from this form will have a significant impact on how much funding receive. We appreciate you taking the time to fill out this survey today!
