Good evening, Einstein Community,
I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying a restful weekend. As we approach the end of the month, we have a few important reminders to share with you, including Parent-Teacher Conferences and the Open Food Pantry we have at Einstein.
Parent-Teacher Conferences - November 25
We look forward to connecting with parents and guardians during our Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 25. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers and discuss their progress.
To sign up for a conference, please use ParentVue. If you need any assistance with the sign-up process, feel free to reach out to the school, and we will be happy to help.
Open Food Pantry - November 25 (12:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
In addition to Parent-Teacher Conferences, we are offering an Open Food Pantry for families who are interested. The pantry will be available on Monday, November 25, from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
More information is provided below in the Newsletter. If you would like more details or are interested in participating, please feel free to contact the school. We are here to assist you.

- November 25 & 26 – Early Release Days for students.
- November 27 - 29 – No School for Thanksgiving Break. We hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday with your loved ones.

Parent Teacher Conference (REPEAT)
Parent Teacher Conference are right around the corner!
They will be held November 25th in person at Einstein. Sign-up is now live in your ParentVue portal. Log-in and choose the Conference History tab to reserve your timeslot.

Athletics News (REPEAT)
Attention Fall Athletes and Families-
Fall Sports Awards Night will be on Tuesday 11/19 at 6:30 pm in the Auditorium. Dinner and sport specific breakouts to follow.
PTSA Fundraiser (NEW)
Join the AEHS PTSA for a tasty fundraiser at Ledo Pizza in Wheaton on Monday, November 18th, and Tuesday, November 19th, from 11 AM to 9 PM (all day)! For online ordering, use code "Fundraiser" on the checkout page. Enjoy your favorite pizza, salad, pasta, sandwich, wings or a sweet treat while making a positive impact on our school community. Donate to the PTSAs Titan Trove Auction (NEW)
The Parent Teacher Student Association is organizing the third annual Titan Trove Online Auction, which will be held in February. Last spring, the auction raised over $20,000, which was used for staff educational mini-grants, stocking our food pantry for families in need, and student programming, including the Back to School Family Picnic, Homecoming, and post-prom party.
Do you have an item or professional service to donate? Items being collected include gift cards, professional services, sports or event tickets, weekend getaways or other unique experiences, and gift baskets. Learn more or submit a donation via this form.

Annual MCPS Hackathon (NEW)
Bugfix Hacks is on!
The annual MCPS hackathon is aimed at high schoolers and middle schoolers. We offer prizes worth over $500 including Airpods, merch, xyz domains, and more to come. We have 8 industry professionals (including AI startup founders and seniors software engineers) as our judges. Submissions open Nov 16 until December 1. We have no required theme and students are encouraged to submit anything and everything. It is beginner-focused and students of all skills are encouraged to participate. We accept projects submitted to past competitions.

Chromebook repair and replacement (NEW)
Chromebook repair and replacement obligation letters will be going home soon.
Each student is financially responsible for damage caused or loss of any Chromebook and charger that is checked out to the student. The device is loaned to the student to be used for instructional purposes only and in accordance with MCPS Regulation IGT-RA, User Responsibilities for Computer Systems, Electronic Information, and Network Security.
No cost is associated for a student to borrow, possess, or use an MCPS Chromebook. A family is only financially responsible when there is avoidable damage to the device. If the device is faulty, there is no charge to the family; however, if the damage is considered avoidable or the device or charger is lost, the family will be charged according to MCPS current parts and replacement costs. Virtual Career Fair for HER (NEW)
The Montgomery County Commission for Women and Montgomery Women will host a free virtual career guidance session titled “A Virtual Career Exploration for Her" for middle school, high school, and college students.
This event will offer an opportunity for female students to begin exploring careers of their interest that are non-traditional for women. It will give students the opportunity to hear from professional women who will share their experiences, knowledge, and education and relate factors important to entering their line of work.
The panel will include women in careers ranging from fire services, STEM careers, the law, and entrepreneurship.
MCPS students who complete and return a small survey at the end of the event can receive Student Service Learning Hours (SSL Hours)—a maximum of two—for their participation. MCPS students will need to register with a non-MCPS email address.

Shop the Food Pantry November 25th (NEW)
The Einstein Titan's food pantry will be open for self-shopping on Monday November 25th from 12:30-5:30pm. Any and all families are welcome to come and shop the pantry during those hours.
The entrance to the pantry is around the left side of the building at the door adjacent to the tennis courts. Look for the signage. Volunteers will be on hand to help load food into vehicles.

College & Career News (UPDATED)
The University of Maryland Chapter of Latina Pathways
The University of Maryland Chapter of Latina Pathways would like to invite your high school students to our High School Networking event! In this event, your students will have the opportunity to connect with alumni, current college students, and other high schoolers in the College Park region. Open to any sophomores, juniors, and seniors, students may learn more about college, as well as their future career paths and interests. This event will be hosted on Zoom from November 22nd, 2024 at 6pm via Zoom. Please fill out this google form to attend.

Seniors interested in applying to MC: On November 19 during lunch come to the career center to receive assistance in applying to Montgomery College.
Class of 2027: Interested in applying for the ACES program? Come during lunch to the career center on November 20 for the ACES application drive.

BroadFutures internship program, designed specifically for neurodivergent students. Their program not only provides valuable work experience but also empowers participants to build confidence, develop professional skills, and forge meaningful connections in their fields of interest.
November Information Session: join them on Thursday 11/21 @ 12pm EST on zoom to learn about our summer 2025 internship program. Students and families can ask questions and hear from their interns about their experiences. Register here

SSL News and Opportunities (UPDATED)
- Montgomery County Council Youth Town Hall (November 20, 2024, 7:00PM-8:30PM) - The Montgomery County Council will host their annual Youth Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Please join our Montgomery County Councilmembers and MCPS student leaders as we discuss important youth-centric issues. Student attendees will be able to share their questions and concerns and participate in a dialogue with our county’s leadership.
