Nighthawk Families,
- Track 2 will return from their track out on Monday, December 9, 2024.
- Track 1 has completed their second quarter and their first semester. We wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and warm holiday/winter break. The second semester will begin on Monday, January 6, 2025.
- Our NJHS is sponsoring a Food Drive for our very own Nighthawk families. Please send in your donation either Monday or Tuesday of this week. If everyone donates one item, we will have over 1300 items to provide our families during the holiday season.
- Our winter athletic games begin this week with our first home game on Monday, December 9th. Please see the Athletic Newsletter linked below in this Nighthawk News and be sure to get your Athletic Booster Club pass to get in free to all games.
- On Tuesday there is no need to cook dinner as our Fine Arts Booster Club will receive the benefits from the dinner sales at Culver's in FV!
- On Friday, December 13th, Ms. Lugo will be hosting our next Open Studio Night. Tickets are $5/person or family 4 pack for $20. 20 slots per session. Sessions are 5pm, 5:45pm, and 6:30pm Here's the link to sign-up:

Tracks 2, 3, and 4: OPM: Identify the Good in Others
Dear Families,
This week, our school community will focus on the Other People Mindset of Identifying and appreciating the good in others. It’s important to deliberately work to identify and appreciate others’ character strengths. It’s not always easy to notice people’s strengths, but it’s something we should all practice.
Often, it’s easier to blame others or focus on their mistakes, which can lead to negative feelings like jealousy or frustration. This negativity can create problems, not just for us but also for our relationships with others.
When we make an effort to see the good in people, we start to see the world in a more positive way. If we always focus on the bad, it feels like we’re surrounded by negativity, which makes us defensive and stressed. This doesn’t mean we should ignore reality or pretend everything is perfect, but we should try to understand others and recognize their good intentions. When we see the good in others, they are more likely to see the good in us.
To practice and encourage the Other People Mindset at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions.
