Thankful Thursdays!
Creating a Culture of Gratitude Every Thursday
Purpose:
Thankful Thursday is an initiative designed to foster a positive school environment by encouraging students and staff to express gratitude to one another. This small gesture promotes kindness, strengthens relationships, and builds a supportive community at Tates Creek Middle School.
Process Overview:
Each Thursday, students and staff will have the opportunity to thank someone—whether it's a classmate, teacher or staff member. This can be done through written notes, verbal acknowledgments, or school announcements. The goal is to celebrate and uplift one another every week.
Students can choose from the following methods to express their gratitude:
Thank You Cards/Notes:
We have placed a "Thankful Thursday" box by the main office where students and staff can drop thank-you notes for someone they appreciate.Procedure: Blank thank-you cards are available next to the box for students and staff to fill out. Students and staff should turn their "thank you note" into the box.
Distribution: On Thursday mornings, admin will draw 2-3 notes out of the box to read over the announcements. A designated team will distribute the remaining thank-you notes to the intended recipients.
Verbal Thank-You:
Students and staff are encouraged to take time during transitions or class to thank someone face-to-face for something specific they’ve done that week.
