Wildcat Weekly

Alania is our student of the month and we are so proud of her growth and leadership. She was a featured panelist in our last school visit and highlighted the learning she has experienced at West Edgecombe to a host of school leaders from around the country. She puts her education as a priority, is very well spoken, and works hard as a student and a cheerleader. We are happy to have Alania represent the student body this month and hope she continues to act as a role model to her peers!

• The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office conducted a lock down drill Tuesday to promote student safety, and we are proud of our students and staff for its success.
• As the weather gets colder, students are starting to wear bedroom slippers to school. This is not allowable per uniform policy, so please make sure your student is wearing appropriate footwear to school.
• Students are expected to have their Chromebook fully charged each day. Please remind your students to take care of their devices and to have them charged up and ready for learning.
• You should have received information regarding how to sign up for Rooms. This is the platform for messaging with teachers. Please reach out to your child's teachers if you do not have this information.
• Infinite Campus Parent Portal is now available. Using this portal you can view your students' grades and attendance. To register for the portal, you must bring photo identification to the school to receive your personal registration code, linking you to your student. Office hours are 7:30am-4:00pm each day.
• Please make note of our Uniform Policy below. School t-shirts are sold daily. T-shirts are $12 and hoodies are $25.

• The tardy bell rings at 8:05am. Please make sure your student is in the building by 8:05am. Students not in class by 8:05am will receive tardy documentation.
• 11:40am is the halfway point in the school day. If your student checks in after this time or checks out before this time, he/she will be counted absent for the entire day.
• All students must be in uniform daily. See the image above for uniform expectations. Students cannot tie their shirt up in the back to expose their back and/or skin. No midriffs are allowed to be seen when sitting or standing. Students will receive discipline consequences moving forward for this.
