Getting a healthy start and entering school ready to learn: All children should have a healthy start and enter school ready-cognitively, physically, socially, and emotionally. We will focus on Early Childhood Programs at the Pre-K and K level. Students, along with their families will be provided with the early literacy tools needed to become fluent readers by the time they reach third grade through our MBK Mentoring Program. We will provide books and materials to parents to reinforce what their children are learning. Students will be exposed to a variety of reading, writing, and problem-solving activities to bolster their ability to tackle a more rigorous curriculum. It will also be important to address the high number of English Language Learners and students with special needs by increasing their exposure to vocabulary, early reading, writing, and social skills during the year before kindergarten entry and throughout kindergarten.

Reading at graded level by third grade: MBK Mentoring is to ensure we have all children become fluent readers by age 8 – the age which reading to learn becomes essential. Research states how imperative it is to focus on reading proficiency by the third grade as a critical step toward increasing the number of children who succeed academically and do well in their lives and careers. The research-based district-wide approach to teaching reading will be inclusive to more than three assessments administered by the school/district throughout the year and will show a student’s reading performance/grade level and will provide outcome reports to the teacher, parent, and the student.

GLOBAL RESURRECTION LLC.
Project Overview: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics are a group of essential subjects that lead to long-lasting learning, offering students the opportunity to improve literacy, and develop and enhance math and science skills. Using an interdisciplinary STEAM approach in the classroom increases critical thinking, broadens perspectives, and offers students the opportunity to improve creative thinking, social skills, and problem-solving.
This project offers a hands-on interdisciplinary approach, that helps students understand how science and technology are useful in their world and make connections to careers they may have not considered like as aviation, engineering, and space field. This, along with 21st. Century Learning Skills allows this program to meet common core, and the 6E learning model:
- Develops critical thinking skills
- Builds tools for collaborations with peers
- Enhances communication proficiency
- Ignites passion for discovery and creativity in design
- Capitalizes in the hands-on interdisciplinary project base

LILTA was established as a nonprofit organization comprised of committed educators and supporters of education, who advocate for high- quality education in order to increase graduation rates and higher education enrollment and completion.
Latinos are the fastest-growing cultural group in the United States. This trend has become evident in many school districts across Long Island. However, the statistics indicate that there is a wide achievement gap, which contributes to a high retention and/or dropout rate within this group.
