Gearing up for colder temps and adverse weather
We would very much like to convey our thanks to GLOBE families for their support this week as Upper Campus made repairs to the building's heating system. During these cooler winter months, please ensure your student(s) bring appropriate warmer clothing with them to school, and also, if you haven't already done so, register your cell phone number with our Remind text service to receive school-wide notifications. Simply text @globers to 81010. Thank you.
Campus notes
Lower Campus
Square 1 Art order deadline extended to December 5.
Square 1 Art is a school fundraiser that allows students to create gifts and keepsakes with their own art on it. Visit the Square 1 Art website to view your child's artwork. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Cottrell.
Playground at LC
The Lower Campus playground is reserved for our Extended Care Program (ECP) students until 5pm each day. To ensure the safety and proper supervision of our ECP students, we ask that parents and students that are not part of the Extended Care program refrain from using the playground/park after school hours.
Lower Campus Scholastic GLOBE Book Fair continues
Who's ready for the Scholastic GLOBE Book Fair? Our Lower Campus Book Fair will take place from Monday, December 2, to Friday, December 6, in the Village Plaza at LC. You can choose to shop early in the morning, before school starts, from 7:30am to 8:10am, or after school from 3:15pm to 5:00pm. You can also shop online. Click here for full details and to set up an Ewallet for your child(ren). To visit the book fair in-person, please first report to the main entrance front office to get your visitor tag. In order to make it a success, we need your help! Click the button below to view available volunteer slots and to sign up. Thank you!
Lower Campus Library Helper Program
Ms. Stowe is re-opening applications for the Library Helper Program for the spring semester. Due to overwhelming enthusiasm from 3rd grade, ten additional students will be selected to be Library Helpers during morning checkout and Friday recess during the 2025 spring semester. Any interested 3rd grade students can pick up an application from the Library, or ask Ms. Stowe. Applications will be due December 20, 2024. If you have any questions about the program or application process, please email Ms. Stowe.
Connections - Science
Field trips have an engaging, relevant and memorable way of making curriculum connections and supporting in-class learning objectives. Last month, Kindergarten students went to the planetarium at Fernbank Science Center to learn about objects in the day and night sky. Next week, a mobile planetarium will come to The GLOBE Academy for 2nd grade as they learn about patterns of the earth, stars and the moon. Please submit any remaining payment and permission slips for our 'walk into outer space' by this Friday, December 6. Thank you.
Upper Campus
8th grade Leadership class
Collection ongoing for Project Period at UC until December 6
The 8th grade Leadership Class has launched Project Period, an initiative to enhance the quality of feminine hygiene products in our school bathrooms. While basic products are currently available, we are working to provide our students with higher-quality options. We're also collecting new underwear in all sizes. This Friday is the last day to donate new, unopened feminine hygiene products. Your donations will help upgrade the products available to our students, ensuring they have access to the quality feminine hygiene items they prefer. Thank you for supporting this student-led initiative to enhance our existing resources. Questions? Contact the 8th grade Leadership Class.
Connections at UC

ECP / Before and After-care
