Friendly Friday Update

We had an excellent first week of school at Friendly Hills! It is great to have our students back in the building, and the excitement and energy they bring with them is contagious. As we continue to work through the adjustment of getting back into a school routine please remember that a good schedule/routine at home is vital for school success. This could include setting bedtimes to assure enough rest, eating pattern adjustments to make sure the energy levels are where they need to be, and a dedicated time to complete any school work that remains consistent throughout the course of the school year.

Join us for the first district-wide event of the school year—the Warrior Rally! This free event is for School District 197 families to explore Two Rivers clubs and activities, enjoy games, bounce houses, and food trucks! All ages are welcome, especially our younger students! This event is on Saturday, September 14 from 11am-1pm in the District Office parking lot. Learn more here.

The Math Team is having an informational meeting on Monday, September 16th. Math Team is open to all students in grades 5-8 and is a great way to showcase your math skills, build teamwork, and have fun! Students interested in learning more should attend the meeting in Mrs. Rasmussen's room, 122 (Lower Green), on Monday 9/16 at 3:30 p.m.

All students will be taking the FAST aReading and aMath assessments between September 9th - 20th. See the attachment below for more information regarding the assessments.

If your student will be absent from school, please call the attendance line at 651-403-7607. (Available 24-hours a day)

If the line is not answered, please leave a message including the student's name, grade, date of absence, and reason for absence.

Alternatively, families are also encouraged to use the free TalkingPoints for Families app/text-based service to communicate with the office regarding absences. Filling out this Google Form will also fulfill calling your absence in.

Early Pick-Ups

If a student needs to leave early for an appointment or any other reason, we will call them out from class when a parent/guardian is in the office to sign their student out.

Late Arrivals

No need to call the office to report a late arrival - send a note with your student, and the office will adjust their attendance in Infinite Campus.

School District 197 is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals, and we'd love for you to join our team. The Special Education Paraprofessional supports students with special needs in a classroom setting by working closely with teachers to reinforce skills and guide independent and remedial work.
