Make Sure Your Campus Student Information/Counts are Correct
Check your campus students in eStar Frontline for the correct status:
1) Ensure all records in Frontline eStar on your campus are marked correctly for:
- STATUS - Please make sure all students showing on your caseload are marked appropriately. For example: Withdrawn, Homeschool and Private School if those are their current status. Additionally, please make sure all of your students that you have completed transfer events on are marked as Currently Served for their status.
It is very important that we know the students who have special needs within our school district that attend private school or homeschool. Please keep the private school/homeschool list updated throughout the year.
Cy Fair Coop Provides FREE Sign Language Classes
Please share with teachers and parents of students who are DHH. You are welcome to attend as a TISD staff member as well. Please see the English Flyer and the Spanish Flyer for more information and to share with staff and families.

LRP: Admit That Appeasing Parents May Lead to Avoidable FAPE Denials
Special Education Connection through LRP provides great legal and practical documents, articles and resources for our Special Services Staff and Counselors. You may log in to Special Educaiton Connection by following this guidance.
The titled article for this newsletter is a great read on ways to talk with parents about requests that the school based members do not feel are appropriate or would provide FAPE! A great resource for parent communication and ARD committee decisions.

Shout Outs!!!
- Lucinda Macia and Pooja Kelm went above and beyond last week to support an ill colleague and to ensure students and families received the reports and services needed within timelines. Thank you both for demonstrating the true #teamtomball spirit!
-
Thad Green received a shout out this week... He went above and beyond by running the caseload for Grand Oaks and ensuring students who receive counseling as a related service are listed for Dr. Scott. Thad is a valuable part of our school psych team, as well as our overall special education team and the campuses he serves!
Kuddos to every Special Services Team Member for putting in 110% this first week of school! Great job working through all the first week kinks and being there for our new staff and families and celebrating those amazing students during their first week! #TeamTomball!!!
