A message from Mr. David Jennings, Principal
To our Maize Central Elementary Families:
During this Thanksgiving season, we have a lot to be thankful for! Thank you to our fantastic MCE staff who do so much to give our students the best learning experience. Their positivity and efforts make our school an incredible place to be. I'd also like to thank all of the families working diligently to make sure students are prepared and ready to participate each day. The amount of support our MCE families show is paramount to our students' success, and I am greatly appreciative. Lastly, I am thankful for our students, who bring so much joy and inspiration. They truly are the bright spots in our day.
A quick note: especially as colder weather approaches, we'd like to remind our MCE families that any open, non-designated space in our expanded East parking lot is available for use. Please keep in mind that some of our families or visitors may have parking accessibility needs. We ask that, unless you have a handicap tag or plate, please keep our handicap reserved spaces open so they are available to those in need.
Thank you for all of your support to help make MCE a great place for everyone!
Sincerely,
David Jennings
MCE Principal

MOXI Mondays bring local baked goods to our school menu
Maize USD 266 Food Service and MOXI Junction, a coffeehouse and bakery in Maize, are making Mondays a little easier with MOXI Mondays during school breakfast. On (Date), our students will have the opportunity to select a freshly baked carmelita bar from MOXI Junction as a part of their school breakfast. Students can select a carmelita and add choices of fruit, juice, and milk.
Capturing Kids Hearts
Parents and Guardians,
Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) is a program designed to change the school-wide culture and promote appropriate behavior, self-reflection, responsibility, and academic growth. Each year, CKH recognizes outstanding schools as a National Showcase School. Becoming a National Showcase School is a rigorous selection process that includes measuring key performance indicators, gathering campus data, and surveying parents. The results represent the implementation of CKH processes and the culture and climate at MCE. Our school has been awarded this honor for the past six years. Please consider completing the attached parent survey by December 6, 2024 to help us receive the prestigious award as a National Showcase School.

Why join MCE PTO?
The Maize Central Elementary (MCE) PTO is an organization that partners with the school to support the students and teachers in our building. To be successful, we need parent support and volunteers. This can be as simple as donating needed snacks/supplies to attending meetings or joining the PTO Board. Meetings for those who can attend are held monthly.

Attendance
Volunteers
We are excited to welcome volunteers in the classroom. If you would like to help out around our school, please fill out our MCE S.T.A.N.G.S. volunteer form, then check with the classroom teacher to schedule a time. Additionally, please click here to submit a background check as required by the district. A new background check needs to be completed for each school year. Best of all, you can submit it now and be set for events all year long!
Raptor ID Scanning
When visiting our school, you will be able to park in our East parking lot and sign in through our front office. Please bring a valid government issued ID so that our secretaries may scan it into our Raptor System. This helps us to verify our visitors and creates a badge so that our staff can identify those they may see in the hallways. This is used any time a visitor will enter the building (regardless of a completed background check). It only takes a few moments and your scanned ID is good for the entire school year, so there is no need to rescan for later visits!
If you plan to visit, please contact your child's teacher to set up a time so we can maximize instruction and support for everyone. There will be lots of opportunities for volunteering and celebrations. We look forward to a fun-filled year!
🚗 Parent Drop-Off/Pick-Up🚗
If you utilize our MCE Parent Pick-Up/Drop-Off line, please see our instructions here. We'd like to remind families that it is helpful to get your child into the routine of being ready to exit to the right side by our labeled barriers. For safety (and to keep our line moving) families should remain in their vehicles.
Thank you for helping us make this process safe and quick!
