Principal Update
This week it was too hard to pick out a single grade level that was demonstrating how to be Stingray Strong!
I want to give a shout out to Afternoon Bus 56. The older students on the bus showed kindness and empathy to another student who was nervous about riding the bus that day. There were many students who offered kind words of support and a willingness to sit with the student. Earlier that same day, students on the Morning Bus 50 looked after a Kindergarten student who didn't get off at the Kindergarten playground and they made sure he was connected with an adult once he got off the bus. It's so amazing to see our older students looking after the younger students at the school with kindness and care!
Lastly, Mr Rife was showered with many happy birthday wishes and cards and signs from students from all across the building today. What a great way to start the weekend!

Referendum Community Information Meetings this Month
During the first half of 2024, more than 2,500 community members collaborated on a plan to continue to improve Barrington 220's aging school buildings. The final $64M community-driven plan will go to you, the voter, for approval as a referendum question on this November 5 election ballot. If successful, the referendum will:
- Increase Safety & Security throughout Barrington 220
- Build a New Community Auditorium at Barrington High School
- Enhance STEAM and Instructional Spaces for Students
Even though these events are being hosted at specific schools, they are open for all members of the D220 community to attend at the location that works best for them. Join us at one of our upcoming community meetings to learn more about the referendum, tour current spaces, and see why these improvements are needed:
- Noon Saturday, Sept. 28 at Barrington High School (immediately following the homecoming parade)
