A Note from the Leadership Team
Dear Menchaca Families,
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break filled with joy, laughter, and togetherness. As we return to school, we are thrilled to see our students back and ready to continue their learning journey. It’s hard to believe, but we are just three weeks away from the end of the first semester!
Over the past months, our students have amazed us with their learning and growth. Their curiosity and hard work inspire us daily. As we approach the holiday season, the next three weeks promise to be filled with exciting and memorable activities that celebrate this special time of year. We look forward to seeing you around campus during our special holiday events.
We encourage you to stay connected by maintaining open communication with your child’s teacher and by reading News from the Nest for important updates. Together, we can ensure that this holiday season is as enriching and joyful as possible for our young scholars.
Warm regards,
MECC Leadership Team

Don't Forget the Note
Documentation after an Absence (All Grade Levels)
When a student is absent from school, the student must bring a note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. A phone call from the parent may be accepted, but the district reserves the right to require a written note.
NOTE: Unless the absence is for a statutorily allowed reason under compulsory attendance laws, the district is not required to excuse any absence, even if the parent provides a note explaining the absence.
A student absent for more than 3 consecutive days because of a personal illness must bring a statement from a doctor or health clinic verifying the illness or condition that caused the student’s extended absence from school. Otherwise, the student’s absence may be considered unexcused and, if so, would be considered to be in violation of compulsory attendance laws.
