New Field ES Weekly Updates
Week 36: June 2-6, 2025
Walking Field Trips, PAC Cooking Club, Splash Day & Movie Night!
Dear New Field families,
It is hard to believe but the last eight days of the school year are upon us - what a year it has been! Our last eight days are filled with fun activities, reflections on our year of learning and community events to send our students into summer vacation honoring their hard work, effort and accomplishments.
This week our PAC will host our final family workshop: International Cooking Night! Bring a treasured family dish to share, come with your recipe and enjoy a family-style meal on Thursday, June 5 at 4:00 in our cafeteria.
This week a number of our grade levels also have field trips. Second grade students head to the Shedd Aquarium on Wednesday, June 4. Kindergarten and Third Grade students will take a walking field trip to neighborhood parks on Thursday, June 5 and Fourth grade students will head to Loyola Park on Friday, June 6. Please be aware that all walking field trips are weather dependent.
Friday, June 6 is our final Friday of the school year and we have some favorite annual traditions in store!
🌊💦🌊Friday, June 6th is SPLASH DAY for students in grades K-4💦🌊💦. Students will have water games, bubbles, music and popsicles at recess. Please send your child with a towel and a change of clothing. Water games are optional for all students. Our final rain date, in case of inclement weather, is Monday, June 9.
🎬🍿🎥Friday, June 6 is also our final family event of the school year: Family Movie Night.🎬🍿🎥
Our students voted to watch Minecraft Movie! Doors open at 7:30 PM and we will show cartoons until sundown. Our movie is expected to begin at 8:15 PM. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Bring your own blankets and chairs - our movie will screen outdoors on our turf playground, weather permitting. Unfortunately, in case of inclement weather we will not hold a rain date.
Our final week of the school year will feature important ceremonies and events including PreK Graduation, Kindergarten Graduation and Fourth Grade Graduation. As a reminder the last day of school is Thursday, June 12. It is important that students attend every day of school through the end of the year.
We look forward to celebrating a successful school year and the start of summer vacation with one and all!
Warmly,
Conrey Callahan
Principal, New Field ES

This helps us best plan for your child's success, allocate resources effectively and ensure a smooth transition should your child change schools.
It is critical that we have accurate and verified information for current PreK and current Fourth Grade Students.
After June 16 we will no longer have access to any student information in our computer systems for students that are projected out of our school. At that point you would need to go to the anticipated receiving school to process any transfer, even if your child did not enroll at that school.
