Erie County STEM Symposium
May 15, 2025

About this Symposium...
In order to build a network of educators that will lead and collaborate, we are asking each district to register 2 educators for EACH grade band: K-2, 3-5, 6-8. We welcome any administrators from ANY district that would like to attend and participate.
Session 1 Goals:
Educators will explore the fundamentals of LEGO Robotics and drones, discovering practical strategies for integrating both technologies into the K-8 curriculum. Through hands-on activities, educators will gain confidence in using LEGO Robotics and drones to enhance student learning in STEM subjects, problem-solving, and computational thinking. Additionally, participants will explore how robotics and drones can be embedded into the curriculum to prepare students for emerging careers in the future workforce. Attendees will leave with ready-to-use lesson ideas that align with academic standards and foster student engagement.
Session 2 Goals:
Educators will take LEGO Robotics to the next level by exploring opportunities for collaboration, activity creation, and real-world connections. Participants will learn how to partner with local businesses, develop interactive STEM challenges, and be a part of mini non-competitive scrimmages across districts where students can apply their robotics skills in friendly challenges. This session will empower educators to create a sustainable robotics culture in their schools, fostering teamwork, innovation, and career exploration.
