Research Databases: Journal Articles and Images
The library subscribes to dozens of databases for you to access for your research needs. The complete list of our databases and more are available in the Resources section of the library website.
When prompted to log-in to access a database, the username and password are same as your e-mail login credentials
Articles not available in full-text can be requested through Interlibrary Loan.
Journal of Medical Insight (JOMI)
JOMI provides surgical procedures offering incision-to-closure, long-form, high-quality, surgeon-narrated didactic experiences. JOMI is used by surgical technologists, and other health-related professionals to help them prepare for cases and learn about advances in surgical procedures. Most of JOMI content is focused on general surgery, orthopaedics, orthopaedic trauma, neurosurgery, and head and neck surgery.
Important: You must create an account to use this database:
1. When you click on “click here” it will take you to JOMI
2. On “Create an Account”, fill in your information
4. You MUST use your Trocaire email to create your account
3. Click “Create Account”
4. At the Institutional screen, type in Trocaire College
5. Select the “User Type” from the menu
6. Click on the green “Create Account” button
7. Once you create an account, the next time you visit the site, “sign in” is on the top right corner of the website
The Surgical Technologist
Scholarly articles from surgical technology's top journal. Click here to begin. Issues are available online from 2006 - present.
Username: ASTJournal
This is the correct username. Ignore the request for an email address.
Password: 6GaR@tp8-2
A collection of articles by subject can be found on the website.
The Surgical Technologist is indexed in CINAHL which you can use to search for articles. Unfortunately, The Surgical Technologist does not have the option to search between issues at this time.

Medscape is a leading site for physicians and healthcare professionals. It offers the latest medical news, expert perspectives, essential point-of-care drug and disease information and relevant professional education.
