Caregiver Webinars for Families of Young Children
This fall, the ACCESS Lab at the Marcus Autism Center and Georgia Department of Public Health hosted a caregiver lunch-and-learn series. The series was designed for all families of young children who want to learn about supporting communication, big emotions and behavior, toileting, and finding services.

New PBS show "Carl the Collector" features main character on the autism spectrum.
Target Age Group: 4-8
The new PBS KIDS® animated series CARL THE COLLECTOR follows Carl, a warm-hearted raccoon who loves collecting things. The show breaks new ground as the first PBS KIDS series to feature central characters on the autism spectrum. Carl’s attention to detail, distinctive way of looking at the world, and extensive collections help him solve problems around Fuzzytown with his friends, Sheldon, Lotta, Nico, Arugula and Forrest. The series will debut in both English and Spanish. (Source: PBS Kids)
Navigating Autism in Communities of Color: A Documentary Film
Those who attended the Color of Autism Parent Training Session heard from Breanna Kelly-Higgs and Natasha Nelson. Both women are featured in the timely and important documentary Navigating Autism in Communities of Color. The film is based on the stories of six Black families, as well as experts in the field, on the unique struggles of navigating autism in a structurally unequal society and determination for equal access. Stay tuned for announcements of film screenings in 2025! The trailer is below.

Children's Museum of Atlanta Sensory Friendly Play Time
Children's Museum of Atlanta strives to be an inclusive and accessible space that considers neurodiversity. Museum staff members are on-site with sensory solutions and ready to help guests.
