This beloved family event celebrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in exciting and engaging ways. This evening STEAM event is a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate STEAM in our school community. Our vibrant STEAM program is emphasizing the importance of STEAM education in today’s world, by tapping into the creativity and potential of all our students. Our NES STEAM evening will feature our students AND community organizations including The Works, Soil and Water, Dawes, etc. Stations will address Makey Makey, planks, NetJets, brain mindfulness, and more. Great sessions are planned. Here is our list of centers.....map to come.
*****For Mr. Elkhoury’s STEAM session, the famous Marble Run building activity, we’re in need of cardboard tubing—empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls! LOTS OF THEN!!! Could you kindly collect these for us? Please send them to school; they will be put to great use! Thanks... you rock.
Grade 2 and Grade 4 students will be taking the InView assessments this week. InView screening assessments are required cognitive evaluations designed to measure students' reasoning and problem-solving abilities. The results help educators understand students' academic strengths and areas for growth, guiding future learning strategies. The results/ data are used to identify children for possible gifted services and additional challenges in classes. More to come on defined specific dates.

Exciting Poetry Celebration at Northridge Elementary!
We are thrilled to announce that renowned poet and author Amy Ludwig VanDerwater will be visiting Northridge Elementary on April 8th! Known for her work in children's anthologies, picture books, and popular magazines, Ms. VanDerwater brings her passion for poetry to life in a way that resonates deeply with students.
Ms. VanDerwater holds an MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, and teaches writing nationwide, making her visit especially exciting for our 4th and 5th graders. Her engaging, kid-friendly approach will inspire creativity and spark a love for poetry.
This visit marks the grand finale of our month-long Poetry Celebration! Our students have been sharing their poems each morning, preparing for an open mic event at our upcoming STEAM night, and celebrating poetry in classrooms. We can't wait to welcome Ms. VanDerwater and celebrate the power of words together!
