George Washington High School

George Washington High School Principal, Johnny Cressell engaging with his families during the first Parent and Family Action Meeting of the 2024-2025 school year. This meeting supported the districts efforts in viewing families as partners in education. The meeting provided families with school and district updates.

As DPS continues to bridge the gap between school and families, G.L.H Johnson Elementary School Principal Withers Jackson listens to families during the school's Meet and Greet. This meeting provided families with the expectations for the school year and how they could support their child's education.

Early College students tour Averett

DPS Early College scholars had the opportunity to experience the next chapter of education during their recent tour of Averett University's beautiful campus.

Danville Police Department Community Walk

Danville Police Department conducted their monthly community walk to hear the concerns of families in the Hunter's Run Apartment Complex this week. Several community agencies, along with Danville Public Schools participated in the walk to provide resources to the families. Danville Public Schools had the opportunity to discuss the importance of attendance during this visit.

Danville Church Based Tutorial Program

Danville Church Based Tutorial Program tutors and site coordinators sit attentively during a recent training held at O.T. Bonner Middle School. Afterschool tutoring is a big part of student success!
