Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Friday, October 18th, the students at Hamilton Middle School celebrated their success from the first grading period with a Ranger Rally. Students were recognized for the following:
- Student of the Quarter- Each teacher selects a student who has displayed strong academic work, behavior that aligns with our expected behaviors, great effort and attitude as well as good attendance.
- Perfect Attendance- Students who were in attendance all day every day! No early dismissals or tardies.
- Honor Roll- Students who earned between 3.0 and 3.7 GPA.
- Principal’s Honor Roll- Students who earned between 3.8 and 4.0 GPA.
- On a Roll Award- students who are working hard and making great progress academically or behaviorally.
- Safe, Responsible and Respectful Rangers
- Responsible- Students who routinely engage in productive work.
- Respectful- Students who respect themselves, others and property.
- Safe- Students who are sure to maintain a safe and clean environment.
It was a great day celebrating the successes of our students. We challenged each student to be one of the students receiving recognition for the second quarter.
We have uploaded photos to the Middle School website. Enjoy!
Our first school sponsored dance is scheduled for Friday, November 1st. Students must qualify for the event with their PBIS reward points. There is also a $3 fee to cover the drinks and snacks that will be provided. Additional information can be found in this newsletter.
Warm regards,
Mr. Endres, Principal

FCS coming to HMS!
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN STUDENTS (FCS) ... COMING SOON TO HMS!!!
Friday, November 1st, will be the beginning of our Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) Club. All students are welcome to pack a lunch & join the group for prayer, a Bible lesson, discussion, fellowship, and even some games if time allows. Two local youth pastors will be joining us for these FCS gatherings. A student needs to complete a permission slip to attend and simply "check out" our group. You can continue to attend (or decide to stop) as long as you would like. The PERMISSION SLIP (ATTACHED HERE) explains the purpose and vision of the FCS Club and gives a student permission to attend.
We will be joined by Pastor Aaron Leslie (from Judah Tabernacle) and Pastor Steve Combs (from Leave A Mark Church). Meetings will be every Friday during your Lunch AND Ranger Time periods -- yes, that is ONE whole hour together!!
Ava Sherer will be the Student Leader who has expressed her passion to bring this group back to the Middle School. Thank you Ava! Several teachers have volunteered to join our groups, so that these meetings could happen. These teachers will have copies of the permission slip as well. Thanks to these teachers: Mr. Freshkorn, Mrs. Wintle, Mrs. Heiby, Miss Warner, Miss Reed, and Mr. Crallie.
8th Graders will meet in Mrs. Telfer's classroom (Room 114) during the 4 & 5 Lunch/RT periods.
7th Graders will meet in Mr. Lowe's classroom (Room 210) during the 6 & 7 Lunch/RT periods.
A special thank you to Mr. Lowe for allowing the 7th Grade group to meet in his classroom during his lunch period!
The paper permission slip needs to be completed and turned in to Mrs. Telfer before you can attend any FCS meetings. You can find ALREADY PRINTED PERMISSION SLIPS hanging outside Mrs. Telfer's classroom (Room 114) between the main office and cafe staircase.
See Ava Sherer, Mrs. Telfer, or any of the teachers mentioned above, if you have any questions. We hope you decide to join us.

What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.
