Sunday, November 3rd: Confirmation Sunday: Embracing Love and Service
Dear St. Athanasius Families,
On this Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time, we reflect on the words of Sunday's liturgy, which beautifully call us to love the Lord wholeheartedly. In Deuteronomy 6:2-6, we are reminded of God's command to keep His laws close to our hearts, to follow them with devotion, and to teach them to our children. In Mark 12:28b-34, Jesus teaches us that the greatest commandments are to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves. This central call to love resonates especially deeply as we celebrate the feast day of St. Martin de Porres.
St. Martin, known for his profound love and humility, dedicated his life to serving the poor, sick, and marginalized. His life is a powerful example of what it means to live the commandment of love in real, practical ways, following Jesus' teachings with grace and compassion. For our students receiving the sacrament of Confirmation today, St. Martin's example stands as a beautiful reminder of the path they are embarking upon. Through the Holy Spirit, they are given the strength and courage to love and serve others as Christ did, bearing witness to their faith in their communities and beyond.
As a school community, we are blessed to walk with these young people as they make this sacred commitment. May we, like St. Martin de Porres, support one another with compassion and strive to live out the great commandments in our daily lives. Let us pray for our confirmands, that they may be filled with the Spirit of love and continue to grow in faith, hope, and charity.

Principal's Message
Dear St. Athanasius Family,
Thank you to everyone who helped make this past week a great success! We’re grateful for the donations to our Saints Bingo, for the families who participated in and supported our annual Trunk or Treat, and for those who joined us at the St. Martin de Porres Mass. Your support is what makes our school community exceptional.
We are excited to welcome Mr. Charles Coey as our new teacher! With a background in psychology, holding both a bachelor’s and a Ph.D., teaching experience at the College of the Holy Cross, and a commitment to service through ministry work, Mr. Coey brings both expertise and a passion for Catholic education. He is eager to share his knowledge of mathematics and science in engaging ways, and we look forward to the positive impact he will have on our students and families.
Our Joe Corbi's / Claire’s Gourmet fundraiser has begun! If you haven’t received your sales packet, please contact the main office. Your participation directly supports our school’s needs.
