A Message From the Principal
Dear East Elementary Families,
October flew by and it was a great month here at East! Most notably, we had a FANTASTIC fall festival, with over 300 families and 700 students participating in our event. This was a great partnership between our campus staff and our PTO. It was so fun to see the excitement on our students' faces, and the feedback I have received from parents has been great! We plan to make this an annual event for our families and students!
We also have a lot of exciting events coming up in November, and we’re thrilled to have you join us in making this month memorable!
Monday, November 4th – District UIL Meet – No School
We wish our students who are competing in the UIL meet the best of luck as they represent East Elementary with pride! Please note there will be no school this day.
Tuesday, November 5th – Goals Day – No School
Parents, this is a great opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher and discuss their progress and goals for the year. We’re excited to share all the wonderful things your students are learning and to set a course for continued growth! I hope you have signed up to meet with your child's teachers!
Thursday, November 7th – 5th Grade Veterans Day Program @ 6:00 PM
Our fifth graders are preparing a beautiful tribute to honor our veterans. Join us in the school gym to celebrate the service and sacrifices of our heroes. This event is always a meaningful experience for our students and families alike.
Tuesday, November 12th – PTO Meeting @ 6:00 PM
Our monthly PTO meeting will be held in the Discovery Center. We welcome all families to join us and hear about the upcoming events and ways to get involved in our school community.
Friday, November 22nd – East Elementary Thanksgiving Lunch
Come share a meal with us! Our Thanksgiving lunch is a special tradition, and we look forward to seeing our families come together. We hope you’ll join us for a delicious meal and time together as a school family. The link to RSVP to the luncheon is below!
Friday, November 22nd – Gobble Wobble
This will be a fun way to kick off Thanksgiving break with a fun, active event! Our wonderful PTO will be in charge of this event and will be sending home information very soon! Students and families are welcome to join us as we “wobble” our way into the holiday!
November 25th – 29th – Thanksgiving Break
We wish all our families a safe and restful Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy the time with family, friends, and all that makes this season special.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making East Elementary a wonderful place to learn and grow. We’re so proud of the progress our students are making, and we couldn’t do it without your support. Have a fantastic November!

Join WATCH D.O.G.S.
WATCH D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S.® school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. On the day of their participation, WatchDOGS are given a brief review of their involvement and they wear an official WATCH D.O.G.S. tshirt and lanyard that identifies them as school Watch D.O.G.
So we need all dads, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures to come learn more about this program, have some pizza with us, and sign up to help! We will meet on Tuesday, September 17th at 6:00pm in our school cafeteria! See you then!
