Week #12 Update
Our Lady of the Lake School is committed to the Word of God through living out the Good News of Jesus Christ. A supportive educational team of students, staff, parents, and community aims at providing a creative, Christian learning environment. An emphasis is placed on developing students’ individual abilities, promoting social awareness, and encouraging them to become responsible, contributing members of church and society.
Week #12 Update
Dear OLL Families,
As we have begun Thanksgiving week, it is with a sense of gratitude and warmth that I reach out to our cherished school community. Thanksgiving is not just a holiday; it is a time to reflect on the blessings we share and to appreciate the importance of family and community in our lives.
In the midst of our busy lives, it is easy to lose sight of the significance of spending quality time with our loved ones. This Thanksgiving, let us make a conscious effort to be present with our families. Whether you are gathering around the dinner table, sharing stories, or engaging in simple yet meaningful activities, let these moments be a reminder of the precious gift of togetherness.
Our Lady of the Lake School has always been a community that values compassion, gratitude, and unity. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, let us extend these virtues to our homes and neighborhoods, creating a ripple effect of kindness and love. May this holiday season be filled with warmth, gratitude, and the joy of being surrounded by those we hold dear.
Wishing you and your loved ones a Thanksgiving filled with blessings, laughter, and the true spirit of togetherness.
Have a beautifully blessed week,
Mr. Conroy
OLL - Hallow for Schools
Dear Parents,
Our school has partnered with Hallow, the #1 Catholic prayer platform to provide Hallow as a resource to strengthen both the mental and spiritual health of the school community.
Hallow contains over 10,000 audio-guided prayers spanning from quick minute meditations to entire holy hours, dozens of music albums and ‘praylists,’ and everything in between. The app is specifically designed to offer something for everyone, and in the classroom we’ll use Hallow to help:
Through the school's partnership, you have the option to create an account on behalf of your student to access everything on the platform, including hundreds of prayers specifically designed for Kids, Teens, and Families. Pray along on evenings and weekends!

Welcome Ms. Garcia!
New Main Office Manager
Hi, I’m Jaela, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Lady of Our Lake School community! I’m a Montclair State University graduate with a degree in psychology and a passion for connecting with and helping others. Outside of work, I love taking my puppy on long walks, visiting the dog park, traveling, and trying new foods. Italy has been my favorite destination so far! I’m excited to be part of the OLL team and can’t wait to meet everyone!
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Garcia to Our Lady of the Lake School! Ms. Garcia will begin at OLL on Monday, December 2nd!

SPREADING the SNEEZE: HOW LONG is a COLD CONTAGIOUS?
Your cold is MOST CONTAGIOUS in the FIRST 2-3 DAYS when the SYMPTOMS SNEEZING, COUGHING, and a RUNNY NOSE are at their WORST!
TIMELINE
- BEFORE SYMPTOMS START? YES! You can be contagious even if you do not feel sick, which occurs about 1 DAY before symptoms kick in!
- DAY 1 to 3: PEAK CONTAGIOUS PERIOD
- DAY 4 to 7: STILL CONTAGIOUS, but less so
- AFTER DAY 7: LOWER CHANCE of SPREADING the VIRUS
HOW CAN YOU STOP YOUR COLD FROM SPREADING?
- STAY HOME
- COVER YOUR MOUTH and NOSE when COUGHING or SNEEEZING
- DISINFECT SURFACES: GERMS can LINGER on DOORKNOBS, PHONES, KEYBOARDS and DESKS so WIPE THEM DOWN REGULARLY
- WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY, SOAP and WATER are your BEST DEFENSE AGAINST SPREADING VIRUSES
- USE HAND SANITIZER when soap and water are not available
- WEAR a MASK if you need to go out, a mask can keep your germs from spreading to others
DOES TAKING MEDICATION REDUCE HOW LONG a COLD is CONTAGIOUS?
NO! Medication like TYLENOL or IBUPROFEN can help with symptoms but they will NOT shorten the duration of contagiousness.
REST, HYDRATION and ISOLATION are STILL ESSENTIAL!
