These have been another opportunity for kids to :
- CONNECT WITH OTHERS,
- TO EXPLORE WHAT 'HEAL COUNTRY' IS ALL ABOUT and TO HAVE FUN!
Many thanks Kylie!
From the Principal
Dear Families,
The end of another wet week - we hope that you all managed to stay safe, dry and warm!
I have been away at a Principal's Conference for a few days and sitting on an appointment panel today, culminating with my Pfizer jab! :)
Many thanks to Stuart, Maria and Tracy for their wonderful leadership support in my absence - we are indeed very blessed to have the calibre of staff we do, working here at St Emilie's.
Mr Dan Naden (Year 5 teacher) welcomed his brand new baby boy into the world yesterday and he is a real cutie! On behalf of the whole school community I offer our sincere congratulations and best wishes to both Dan and Cassie on this very special news!
The other big news this week is that St Emilie's, once again, were victorious at the Cross Country interschool competition held at Tomato Lake! Mr Munro has created a FB post and Mr Davis will be getting photos and results up on the website under 'News' very shortly. Congratulations to all those students selected for the team and on the WONDERFUL result!
With the weekend ahead I wish you all some really calm and happy family time together. While the weather forecast isn't great, it is always good to think mindfully about how you can be the very best parent you can be for your kids. Think about what you say, how you say it and what messages you are giving your kids. Think about your body language. Think about opportunities for some more laughter, some more cuddles, and more talk about ... shared interests, what is going on in the world, stories from the past and the list is endless. Maybe teach your child/ren how to do something and encourage effort, persistence and patience!
Take care everyone and looking forward to seeing you next term!
Kindest regards
Tania Thuijs
Principal
Relaxed vigilance ...
We have been advised that physical distancing of 1.5 metres between adults from different households is to be maintained where possible and good hygiene practices are to be maintained.
While we are certainly hoping that we won't be dealing with another lockdown here in WA, we have spent some time as a staff revisiting our Education Continuity - Remote Learning Plan and reflecting on the learning from last time. In the final analysis, COVID is to a very large degree out of our control, however we continue to maintain a relaxed vigilance, ready to respond quickly, pastorally and professionally, should the need arise.
Thank you!

2021 Sacramental Dates
Kindy Enrolments for 2022 - do you have a child starting Kindy next year?
If you have a child starting next year please ensure that you have completed an enrolment form. We still have some spaces so please spread the word!
Kindy enrolments are an exciting time for our school - we love to meet new families and touch base with our existing families!
Social Worker PARENT REFERRAL and CONSENT FORM
School social workers focus on the student in the school environment and work collaboratively with principals and teachers to minimise the impacts of personal, family and school difficulties and, where possible, remove any barriers to learning.
With students as their focus, school social workers provide consultancy, advice and support to principals, teachers and other school staff and to families so that they can best meet the needs of individual and groups of children and young people. There is a strong emphasis on individual student and family counselling and support. This is an amazing opportunity for kids, staff and families and one we have wanted in our school for some time.
Please find below the Parent Referral and Consent Form to access our School Social Worker.
You are asked to read the procedure carefully and also note that Kylie only works two days a week. While she will do her very best to accomodate all family referrals, patience may be required as she prioritises her case load and allows time for observation visits, classroom support and playground involvement.
Uniform Shop
Image Embroidery now services our school community's uniform requirements.
For all uniform queries, please contact a member of the Image Embroidery team (contact details below).
Their store is just 5 minutes from St Emilie's for 'try ons' or you can order uniforms via their online form.
