TIGER TIMES

NOTES FROM YOUR PRINCIPALS
Dear Titus Family,
What a week it has been! While the temperatures outside were frigid, Titus was filled with warmth and joy. During indoor recess, our students truly made the most of their time. Many found comfort in cozying up with a good book, while others enjoyed board games or tapped into their creative sides with craft activities. It's always a pleasure to see how our students embrace these moments.
As we look ahead to next week, I want to remind you that we have an early dismissal on Tuesday. This will provide our teachers the time they need to review important student data and thoughtfully prepare for the second half of the school year. We're looking forward to building on the incredible progress our students have made so far, and we are excited about the growth yet to come.
Wishing you and your family a warm, restful, and enjoyable weekend ahead!
Your Proud Principal
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski
Hi Titus Community –
We had another exceptional week here at Titus. I was able to get in so many classes this week to see what is happening. I loved seeing the 4th grade students work on their animal posters in groups. Mr. Bocklet’s P.E. classes have been focused on net games and the 6th graders look like they will be ready for beach volleyball this summer. Mr. Chadbourne’s class has been diving into multiple texts and identifying the theme. Science Olympiad started yesterday with Ms. Tobin and I know those students can’t wait to explore and create in such an awesome after school club. All great things happening at Titus!
And of course, the kids are very excited for the Birds this weekend! They know that I do not like to make predictions because my track record is not so great with doing that. However, I am foreseeing some more Eagles Spirit Days in our future at Titus.
Have an awesome weekend everyone!
Your Proud Assistant Principal,
Mr. Dave Filson

TITUS SCHOOL DAY
SCHOOL HOURS REMINDER
We are an "A" or early school, and our hours are 8:35 AM to 3:15 PM.
The morning kindergarten session hours are 8:35 AM to 11:10 AM.
The afternoon kindergarten session will run from 12:40 PM to 3:15PM.
START OF THE SCHOOL DAY ...
Please be aware that the school day begins at 8:35 AM in your child(ren)'s classroom(s). If you are a car rider in the morning, it is recommended that children are dropped off no later than 8:30 AM in order to get to their classrooms for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. If a student arrives in their classroom beyond 8:35 AM, they are considered tardy. Parents will need to come into the building to sign their child in if they arrive after 8:35 AM.
The adults supervising the car-rider drop-off line will be on duty until 8:32 AM. Students dropped off after 8:32 AM will more than likely not be able to make it to their classrooms on time for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. Also, for safety reasons, students arriving to school prior to 8:15 AM, need to be supervised by their parent/caregiver. We ask that all students wait with their family member in the drop off line until 8:15 AM.

WINTER WEATHER INFORMATION
Reminder: Winter Weather Procedures
Winter Is Coming: A Reminder About Procedures in Case of School Schedule Change
With the official first day of winter on Dec. 21, CBSD families are reminded of district procedures should winter weather impact the school day schedule. You can find all related information on this webpage. If school buildings need to close or operate on a modified schedule due to present or pending weather conditions or any other emergency, the district will endeavor to communicate the schedule change to families as soon as possible. Please note that this year, CBSD will be utilizing Flexible Instructional Days (FIDs) should school need to close after the first use of a traditional snow day. You can learn more about the procedures for FIDs here.
Info on Flexible Instructional Days, Expectations for Families and Students
A Flexible Instructional Day (FID) is designed for situations where school buildings need to close due to weather or other emergencies, but learning can still continue at home. Utilizing a FID allows us to avoid extending the school year or disrupting the instructional calendar as well as provides an opportunity for students to practice their skills and become more independent learners. Elementary and secondary students and families have certain expectations should a FID be necessary. Complete information, including an explanatory video with a translatable script, can be accessed on our FID webpage.

Regular School Attendance is Critical for Student Success and Well-Being
As we begin the 2024-25 school year, CBSD wishes to remind families of important information regarding attendance. VOLUNTEERS
DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES ...
Titus will expect all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.
Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District required the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Approved volunteers are given an identification card to be presented at the school (along with your photo ID, such as a driver's license) when volunteering. Please allow 7-10 days after you have submitted your online application for receipt of the ID card.
Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances can be found on our district website by clicking here.
