October Students of the Month
James is exemplary when it comes to demonstrating our Cardinal Pride Standards. He is kind and caring, and always strives to do his best when in the classroom. Always ready and willing to help others, James comes to class with a smile on his face. He is responsible and respectful, always thanking his teachers before the end of class. Congratulations James - keep up the great work!
Nianyeli Rivera Borrero is recognized as October’s Student of the Month from 7th grade, Team Integrity. This is due to her continuous positive attitude toward peers, teachers, and any assigned task. Nianyeli is always willing to put in the extra time and effort to make sure her assignments are completed on time with 100% effort. She is a quiet leader, who leads by example. She is a great listener and a genuinely sincere person. Nianyeli Rivera Borrero is a great role model for other students here at Legg Middle. She exemplifies everything a Cardinal should be! All these things and more make Nianyeli Rivera Borrero LMS’s October Student of the Month!
Sabellah is off to a tremendous start in her 8th grade school year. She is super polite to classmates and teachers and has a very friendly and positive attitude daily. Sabellah is always on task during class and will participate by raising her hand to answer questions, ask questions, and volunteering to help with whatever the teacher needs assistance with. She is an agent of her own learning as seen through her responsible actions of asking what she missed in class if she was absent a day and taking the initiative to check her grades and make sure she has assignments turned in. As a WEB leader, Sabellah plays an instrumental role in supporting sixth grade students in our school as well. Keep up the great work!
Students of the Week
Around the School
Mrs. Tower's and Miss Johnson's classes are diving into their cell unit, where excitement is growing—literally! Students are exploring the wonders of mitosis by planting their own seeds and monitoring their growth daily. They're seeing cell division in action as their plants sprout, develop leaves, and reach for the light. It’s an incredible hands-on journey through the life cycle, connecting classroom learning with real-life science!
Congratulations to our 2024 LMS Staff Homecoming King and Queen, shining examples of school spirit and Cardinal Pride!
Students in Mrs. Kelly's and Mrs. Finn's classes discovered the science behind floating liquids while crafting hydro-dipped pumpkins.
Sixth grade students had a great time at our Fall WEB Social event this month. Thank you 8th grade WEB mentors and WEB leaders for hosting this event!
Making Applesauce in Mrs. Finn's Classroom - Using math, reading, socializing, following directions, turn taking, hygiene skills, planning, organizing, and fine motor skills.
Learning about pumpkin life cycles - STEM activity in Ms. Finn's classroom. Each student will be keeping a daily observation log to follow the pumpkin's life cycle!
Students in action during our Creating Community elective this week! These braided, knotted products will be donated to a local shelter/dog rescue for dogs to chew on and play with.
