Embracing Generative AI At SCS
We are thrilled to announce that our district has purchased a three year license to Magic School AI, a Generative AI platform, for use by all educators and students in grades 6 through 12. This powerful tool will support innovative teaching practices, foster student engagement, and enhance personalized learning experiences. Click HERE to view a quick introduction video to many of the tools within Magic School and HERE to learn about Magic School’s new image generator!
To ensure smooth integration, we have prepared comprehensive guidelines to help you navigate the use of Generative AI in your classrooms. Please refer to the following District GenAI Guidelines:
Slide 8 - Can I Use AI On This Assignment Chart - A helpful color chart detailing the varying levels of Generative AI utilization within the classroom.
Slide 9 - Syllabus Statements - For your convenience, we have prepared statements to include in your syllabus. These statements are also included in the student handbooks.
These resources and more are available on our Generative AI at SCS website (bit.ly/magicschoolatscs).
We encourage you to explore these resources and start incorporating Generative AI into your lessons. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to Dave Binkley.
Thank you for your dedication to creating an innovative and inclusive learning environment for our students.
Meet Raina, Magic School's version of ChatGPT!
To ensure we do not accidentally share Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and remain FERPA and COPPA compliant, we have transitioned to using Raina, Magic School's version of ChatGPT. Raina is designed to assist with questions related to best practices in teaching and school-related tasks. You can ask Raina the same questions and provide the same prompts as you would with ChatGPT.

How SCS Will Start Addressing Student (& Staff) Data Privacy
We are excited to announce that we are taking proactive steps to enhance student and staff data security by aligning with the Ohio Student Privacy Alliance (OSPA) guidelines. Recent findings emphasize the critical importance of protecting our sensitive information in today's digital age.
As part of this initiative, we will be implementing stricter protocols to safeguard student and staff data. This includes ensuring that only programs and tools that meet the necessary standards for data security will be accessible to our students. We appreciate your support and cooperation as we work together to strengthen our cybersecurity measures and uphold the integrity of our educational technology systems.
Student-Teacher Google Accounts
With our Learning Ecosystem being heavily dependant on Google WorkSpace, student-teachers can request a SCSMUSTANGS Google account by completing this FORM. These accounts do not have access to PowerSchool or other purchased programs. All communications to students/families needs to continue to come from the cooperating teacher, not the student-teacher.
