Summer is almost here! Good luck with the final week of the school year! The conference committee has been working hard organizing our annual conference. It’s going to be great! Please make sure to put it on your calendars, and get ready to have an amazing time October 13-14 in Bend! We are poised and ready to promote physical literacy through what we can learn at this conference! One other thing we want to make you aware of is our change in the way we are nominating teachers for the Teacher of the Year award. The nomination form is on our website. Please download the form and send it to me, Jen Bhalla: jenniferbhalla@pacificu.edu by July 15, 2017. It should only take a few minutes to complete, and we can celebrate our colleagues together! The Oregon SHAPE Board is very excited about the conference, and other initiatives that we are hoping get you excited, and that help to educate and promote you all! Here’s to a wonderful summer!

Hey everyone, my wife Angie and I are excited to announce that we are moving to Colorado this summer! I have been accepted to the University of Northern Colorado Sport Pedagogy Ph.D. program with an assistantship. Next fall I'll start working towards a career in higher education as a Physical Education Teacher Educator with Jaimie McMullen serving as my Major Advisor. This gives Angie the opportunity to work part-time and stay home with our kids more which is a desire she's had for awhile. We are both really excited for our new adventure! I will really miss serving as an Oregon SHAPE Board Member. I have enjoyed my service over the last 7 years. Secondly, alongside the conference committee, we are working hard to ensure an awesome conference in Bend. Although I won't be there I can assure you it is going to be awesome. This is a can’t miss conference for sure!

The 2017 Oregon SHAPE Conference Conference Committee is looking for willing folks to submit proposals to present at our conference on Saturday, October 14th, 2017. All accepted session presenters will get a discounted rate on the conference! Submit a session today!
