Team Dublin Weekly Update
Week of May 20, 2024
Mr. Kirschenbaum, ELA
This week, students will explore Ha’s future by thinking about what happens to Ha next through narrative writing. We will also take the end of year Reading Inventory.
Mr. O'Malley, Math 6 and 7
Ms. Wesselhoft, Geography
Students have been researching Ireland for our International Museum projects. Over the weekend they should be finishing research and collecting materials to do their projects. They can start/work on their projects at home but will have some time to do their projects in class. Projects should be done by Wednesday. The room set up and final annotated bibliographies will be done in class on Thursday. On Friday, students will rotate during their Geography period to view all the teams' museums. Parents are invited to come see our museum after school from 3:30 – 5:00.
Ms. Osman, Science
Congratulations on a fantastic project week, scientists! You all made some incredible Space Trash Cleanup Machines, and I was thrilled to see your engineering skills at work. I look forward to seeing your presentations on Monday - make sure you're using good public speaking skills
Next week we will finish presentations and then jump into discussions of Carbon footprints. This will culminate work in our Carbon Footprint Formative on Wednesday, where students will reflect on the concrete steps that can be taken to reduce their carbon footprints. We will finish off the week with our Roots Summative on Friday, May 24th.
For any students who wish to get a head start on their studying, here is the link to this quarter's Roots Blooket! I highly recommend that students study it to ensure their mastery over the material.

Ms. Patsalos, Intermediate ESOL
This week students will write an objective summary of an informational text. Later in the week they will write an informative paragraph about the same text. Students continue to do their System 44 assignments and are expected to complete two topics per week. Class time is set aside for this work and if not completed, it is homework.
Ms. Garcia, MLL Beginners
Hello, Deal families! Last week was our first full week of teaching and learning and, honestly, it could have gone better. Please note that students often get unmotivated to do homework and prepare for tests at the end of the school year so they will need extra support from home to stay focused. Here are some major due dates coming up between May 21-June 7:
Tuesday, May 21: Geography Vocabulary Quiz
Tuesday, May 28: ELA Writing Summative Due
Friday, May 31: Geography Map Project (Summative) Due
June 4-6: Geography Map Project Presentations
June 7: ELA Project Performance
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
