TVHS FORMAL ... ETA 2 WEEKS
ALL of the GOLDEN BEAR 9th and 10th graders are invited to FORMAL on Saturday, February 22. The upperclassmen might be jealous, but this dance is just for YOU, though you are allowed to bring a 11th or 12th grade TVHS guest.
Tickets are on sale now and you can get all the info about this awesome dance right HERE. The event will be held in the Big Gym, so it's on rain-or-shine.

BASIC DETAILS
* Every TVHS dance attendee needs a completed permission slip right HERE.
** You'll need a ticket for the dance. Purchase yours for $55 ($45 with a GOLD CARD). The deadline for presale is THURS, FEB 20.
*** Non-TVHS guests are NOT allowed at the dance. Underclassmen are allowed to bring TVHS 11th & 12th grade students as guests. They'll need to purchase at the Bookkeeping window together.

If you're looking to attend any athletic events, look no further than GOFAN. All tickets are online, but if you're a students and you've got that GOLD CARD you've got FREE entrance to all home athletic events.

PINK & RED DAY - SHOW YOUR SPIRIT
We're looking for the most spirited and best participants at this Thursday's PINK & RED DAY. If your Advisement class exemplifies exceptional enthusiasm and participation, we encourage you to recognize them. The selected advisement class will be awarded a pizza party! Submit your photo right HERE.
CHOIR CONCERT THIS WEDNESDAY (2/12)
Do you LOVE music? This Wednesday (2/12) is the CHOIR CONCERT in the MPR. Entry is completely FREE. Come on out to this awesome venue and enjoy the sounds of the Golden Singers up close. The show begins at 7PM.

IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR THE CAASPP, JUNIORS!
All Juniors will be taking the CAASPP in about 1 month. This important exam deserves an important event; this Thursday (2/13) during ADVISEMENT the Class of 2026 will convene in the Theater for this introduction to this momentous challenge. We'll see you there Juniors!
MATCHMAKING RESULTS COMING YOUR WAY
If you were unable to pick up your Matchomatics results on Friday, don't fret. They'll be delivered to you on Wednesday in your 5th Period.
GOLDEN BEAR RECOGNITION
Congratulations to our Golden Bear staff of the week ...
MRS. MCEACHERN, an amazing and thoughtful Spanish teacher. "She is the best Spanish teacher that I have ever had. There are always fun activites in her class and she makes understanding Spanish easy. She is also so funny and just an incredible teacher. " She is ENGAGED.
MRS. TEACHOUT, a dedicated and generous TVHS counselor. "She is a very hardworking and a very kindhearted person overall. Mrs. Teachout is amazingly positive and makes the challenge of picking classes extremely peaceful." She is SERVICE-MINDED.
We'd also like to introduce our SUPER SUB, Mr. Bortfeld. He’s super nice and is always super friendly. He is also TVHS alumni.
GOLDEN STUDENT OF THE DAY
Today's GOLDEN STUDENT OF THE DAY is LAELANI MADRID (c/o '25).“Laelani is incredibly kind and considerate, willing to help out anyone that needs it. Not only is she an award-winning student, but she is a golf athlete and proud member of TVHS Drama AND she is working on an anti-bullying community project to help provide resources to middle school students. I couldn’t be more proud to have a friend that is beautiful inside and out."

BEARS VALUES RECOGNITION
Does someone you know come to mind when you think of our BEARS VALUES: Brave, Engaged, Aware, Resilient, or Service-minded? If so, this is your chance to nominate them for one of these qualities! (Both students and staff are allowed to nominate a student). These are the qualities we most admire. Help us recognize these outstanding individuals.
MOCK TRAIL ADVANCES TO THE ELITE 8
TVHS Mock Trial wrapped up their regular season with a 3-1 record on Saturday, and they continue their season as one of the top Elite 8 Teams out of 26 teams in Riverside County. Round 5 will be on Tuesday against MLK at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
These Golden Bears received top honors:
- Outstanding Witness as "Harper Dorais", Grace Ortiz ('25) ~ 2nd Place
- Outstanding Defense Attorney, Julie Morton ('25) ~ 1st Place
- Outstanding Defense Pretrial, Team Captain Isadora Alfonso Humeres ('25) ~ 2nd Place

LUNCHTIME ACTIVITIES
FIND A FRIEND SCAVENGER HUNT (9th GRADE)
9th graders, look for something fun coming your way this week. Each member of the Class of '28 will receive an assigned class mate that they must find. If you do, head up to the ASB Room (202) during Lunch to earn your invite to an upcoming ICE CREAM SOCIAL. That's right! We've got ice cream for you and all you have to do is "make a new friend" or at least introduce yourself. Worth it! Find our who your target is this week!
MAKE A NEW FRIEND
Making new friends is awesome. It's always enjoyable to meet new people, get to know them, and find connections. We're doing just that on February 18 on campus. You can sign-up to get more information right HERE.
COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
GIRLS LAX SHOE DRIVE
Donate your gently worn or new shoes and give them a second life, while supporting our Girls Lacrosse Program!
How to Donate:
- No purchase necessary!
- Bring your shoes to the donation boxes in front of the front office.
- Drop off your shoes before school throughout the week (February 10-13).
Thank you for helping us make a positive impact! Our Girls Lacrosse players will be there to collect your donations.
CROWNE HILL LITERACY NIGHT (3/5)
Crowne Hill PTA is hosting Literacy Night for CHES families on the evening of Wednesday, March 5 from 4:45-7:00. Our Scholastic Book Fair will also be open.
This year's theme is Oh, The Places You'll Go with travel/adventure related literacy activities. The PTA is looking for high school students willing to lead groups of children around to several classrooms and assist them during the activities. They also need help setting up around 4:00, and cleaning up after the event.

CAMPUS CLEANUP / ADV / EVERY TUESDAY
Every Tuesday during ADV we're setting aside some time to beautify our campus and pick up trash. You and your friends can volunteer to help out. Each interested students should complete the form right HERE, by the end of the day on Monday. You'll receive an Intervention/Advisement pass on 5-Star. Show your teacher and make your way to the steps of the 600 Building to sign-in and grab your materials (gloves and trash bag). We don't miss a beat. Sign-up to help out today or get a jump start on the rest of January.
EMPTY BOWLS LOOKING FOR DONATIONS
On April 11, TV hosts our annual food drive in conjunction with Mission Hope, our local food pantry working to end hunger in our community. The Empty Bowls program involves our ceramics students, ASB, performers, and more as we invite people to enjoy a dinner served in a beautiful crafted ceramic bowl. The money raised from the event goes directly to Mission Hope.
What we're looking for at this time are donations - soup, bread, salad, and financial donations. If you know of a restaurant willing to help, please contact the Activities Director, Eric Burlingham, (eburlingham@tvusd.us).

ASB APPLICATION/AUDITION
Applications are out now for the 25-26 ASB team. Be a part of the team and work to create the ultimate high school experience for the Golden Bears while recognizing students and staff and planning activities and events for the student body. Apply right HERE.
* All 9th-11th graders are eligible.
** The applicaiton process also includes an interview/audition in March.

AP REGISTRATION DEADLINE (3/10)
MARCH 10 is the LAST DAY to order your AP Exams if you haven’t done so already. All exam registrations are done through Total Registration. This is also the last day to cancel any exams that you have ordered and are not planning on taking. There is a $40 cancellation fee charged by College Board for any canceled exams. After March 10th, there are NO cancellations or additions allowed.
