MVHS Performing Arts News!
On March 26-30, 2024, our MVHS Performing Arts traveled to Disney World to participate in Disney's Imagination Campus Workshops. Our performing arts trip will go down in history as a truly memorable time! Select band, chorus, dance, orchestra, and theatre students performed incredibly well in our many Disney Workshops. Some students had the unique opportunity to sightread choral/instrumental music that they later professionally recorded to a popular Disney movie. Other students learned dance moves and recorded voiceovers as they worked with professional Disney cast members who guided the educational workshop experience.
Many thanks to our chaperones for your wonderful support during our performance trip. Our performing arts students continue to perform at a high standard while proudly representing our school with excellence. Go Bears!
National Library Week!
Why are library media centers so critical to the success of each and every student?
- Students read more and learn more when they can choose what they read. First, we must teach children to read, but then we want them to LOVE to read.
- The media center is a mental and physical safe space that welcomes all who want to read to learn, to explore or to be entertained.
- The library media center is a kitchen (you stay and create), not a grocery store (you grab something and go).
Thank you Mrs. Bird and Mrs. Bleicken for always being there for our students!
Attention Fine Arts Seniors!
If you are continuing in the arts in your postsecondary life, please fill out this form to register yourself as an honoree at Fine Arts Signing Day 2024! The ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 25 at 2:30 pm and will present students with an opportunity to sign the Fine Arts senior banner and enjoy some refreshments with family and friends!
We hope that you will join us!
Academic Requirement for Student Parking in 2024-2025
As we continue to Expect Excellence in Everything, we want to give families advanced notice that students with parking decals are required to pass ALL classes, including any online or dual enrollment classes. Students must also be on track to graduate. This requirement begins in July 2024, so it is important for students to pass all classes in Spring 2024 to qualify for a student parking decal. We will continue to have behavioral and attendance standards for parking as well. Parking is a privilege that is earned. Students who do not meet these requirements may ride the bus or have their parents drop-off and pick-up through our car rider line. Parking decals will be issued to seniors who meet requirements first, then juniors who meet the requirements. Freshmen and Sophomores will not be granted parking decals regardless of age.
Mountain View Cluster K-12 Experience
We are excited to share our cluster video and web story with you! GCPS TV did an incredible job capturing the spirit of the K-12 experience in the Mountain View Cluster. This video premiered at the Board of Education meeting last week, and we are pleased to get to share it with you today. There is also a wonderful companion piece in the form of a web story. Please click the link below to see the web story and to watch the cluster video.
It’s great to be a Bear!
