🫡 Say Hello to the New Leaders! 🤝
🎉 Welcoming New Teachers 🎉
👨🚒 Critical Incident Training 👮♂️
🛡️ The Redlands USD Safety Team, in collaboration with the Redlands Police Department and Redlands Fire Department, recently conducted three joint Critical Incident Trainings to enhance preparedness for emergency situations. This comprehensive training session was designed to equip our administrators, nursing staff, and safety team members with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively respond to medical emergencies and active shooter scenarios on their campuses. 🔒 During the training, participants had the opportunity to observe firsthand what to expect during such incidents, gaining valuable insights into emergency response protocols. 💪
🩸 Some administrators even engaged in hands-on activities in the medical portion of the training to better understand the practical application of emergency medical procedures. This collaboration underscores the commitment of Redlands USD to maintaining safe and secure campuses for all students and staff. By working closely with local law enforcement and fire department personnel, the district ensures that all members of the school community are well-prepared to handle critical incidents, thereby fostering a safer educational environment. 💖
🗓️ Child Nutrition Services Opening Year Meeting 🙌
🍊 Child Nutrition Services (CNS) employees, aka our School Lunch Heroes, from multiple school districts across the Inland Empire gathered at Eisenhower High School in Rialto for the annual Opening Year Meeting. The event celebrates and motivates the region's CNS staff before the start of the new school year. The event featured motivational speakers, including former football player Kory Minor, who delivered an inspiring keynote address. 🏈
The event motivates school nutrition professionals to build sustainable systems and ensure food security for every child in our schools. Attendees enjoyed free meals and a farmer's market provided by our local Redlands farmers at Old Grove Orange, underscoring the critical role these folks play in our schools by providing fresh, nutritious meals for students. 🥗 The shared knowledge and camaraderie from this meeting set a positive tone for the upcoming school year, highlighting the dedication and hard work of all those involved in feeding our kids. 👏

School Communications
Parent Communication: What to Expect 👂👀
Staying informed is key to a smooth school year (for everyone!). Outlined below are ways the district as well as school sites will communicate with you.
🏢 District Communication
The District will send monthly newsletters, letters from the Superintendent, and updates through ParentSquare containing important information and various action items. By reading through the communication, you are helping your student(s) stay on top of any pressing issues, updates and information. ParentSquare is also an app you can download on your phone and set up your personal communication preferences. Seeing too many emails? You can adjust your notification preferences to digest mode and only receive one email from both your child(ren)'s school and the district in one readers digest format (click here to see how!). You can also enable text and push notifications (which we recommend in case of emergency). 📲
In an effort to effectively and efficiently communicate with our staff, families, and community members, the Redlands Unified School District has adopted an electronic flyer communication tool, Peachjar. If you have any questions regarding this new digital flyer service, please email peachjar@redlands.k12.ca.us 🍑
The district also uses social media to share positive stories and happenings throughout the district, in addition to important dates and reminders. You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, X (Formerly Twitter), YouTube, and LinkedIn! 📱
🏫 School Site Communication
School site communication varies depending on site and grade level. However, all sites will send out either weekly or monthly newsletter-style communication through ParentSquare. For questions related to school site communication, please reach out to the site directly!
