MVS School Goal-Student Sense of Belonging
Goal: At MVS more students will feel a sense of belonging and experience an environment of respect and rapport in the school, allowing them to thrive as individuals and members of the school community.
We have had a schoolwide focus on respect this school year and had students share if they feel respected in a variety of places at school. Here are the results of the respect survey:
98.2% of students feel respected in the lunchroom.
96.3% of students feel respected in the classroom.
92% of students feel respected on the playground.
89.6% of students feel respected during gym, music, art, library and guidance.
84% of students feel respected on the bus.
It's great to see that our students are feeling respected in the different places at school. We have been reviewing bus expectations with all students so that we can improve on how students are feeling on the bus. Some students have needed reminders about staying in their seat while the bus is moving and keeping hands and feet to themselves on the bus.
State Superintendent Visit
Dr. Jill Underly, our state superintendent and Sara Knueve, our assistant deputy state superintendent, joined Mr. Prater and Mrs. Erickson for a tour of MVS this week. They were able to check out some student learning in a few classrooms and meet some of the staff.
