Dear PLES!


We have so many things to be thankful for this week! Thank you to Mr. Gable and Mr. Heuser for being our Watch D.O.G.S. today! Thank you to all our veterans for your service! Thank you to everyone who donated to the food drive! The boxes were overflowing by the end of the day today!


Communication will be coming via email later today regarding our holiday gift drive. Please consider supporting a student or family if you are able. Avon Grove families have been working together to help make the holidays magical for students in need since 1998!


Conferences start on Tuesday. If you have not yet signed up for a conference, please contact your student’s teacher directly. We are excited to share all the growth your student has made so far this year!


  • When you come for conferences, please check out the lost and found on the stage and take any items that belong to your family. Any items left after conferences will be donated.
  • There will also be free books available to ALL families by the first floor elevator. Please feel free to take some books home and share the joy of reading with your family!

Spotlight on Learning

Mrs. Lewis's Class made "Thankful Pumpkins" with Watch D.O.G. Mr. Hyde! First, Mr. Hyde read "Our Table", by Peter H. Reynolds. Next, students reflected then engaged in partner discussion about their own families and reasons why they were thankful. Last, students wrote their reasons down and made pumpkins. Big thank you to Mr. Hyde for promoting problem solving and collaboration!

PBIS and Bucket Filling

On Wednesday, we celebrated World Kindness Day! Classes read the book The Kindness Quilt and each student designed a square for their class’ own kindness quilt. Starting next week, all the quilts will be hung in the cafeteria!

PTA Updates
